The talented Alexander Richter was on hand during Baseline Studios’ Wake/Viewing (01/28) to capture some shots before everything was packed away and the legendary studio was closed. Hit the jump for some more shots.

Just said it was time to shut it down because all these big studios that were around aren’t getting as much business because the music scene has taken such a digital turn and so they are getting put of business one by one. So he said while Baseline could have stayed open, when you see something coming (like all the other studios closing) why would you keep it open?
Those are almost his words exactly when I heard him with DJ Scratch.
Basically, I’ve been reading about similar stories where business isn’t the same and it’s hell of expensive in new york city for land. That’s why it’s easier to establish a big studio in a shittier city like cleveland due to tax incentives and land not costing as much.
bring to Baseline to Detroit!
lol.
seriously…
—a dying metaphor—
man… the roc… this is probably as infamous as d&d… classics from jay, beans, free, yeezy, diplomats… even memph and the young gunz… and whatever else just was hooking up for others… dame and his armadale sessions… jay getting it in with the philly cats… wow… this is the place that made jay the king of n.y…. i won’t even put my favorite songs list together because classic albums came out this piece…
Guess Who’s Back
Man.. that’s a shame but Blaze is a smart dude. He makes a lot of valid points.
so why did it close down again?…
Some of these fools clearly don’t take the time to read. The reason the studio closed is posted above in the comments section, you 4th grade reading level muthafuckas!
