i don’t understand this website. i come on here because shake & meka post a lot of good music that otherwise i would have never heard of (e.g. big sean, kendrick lamar and so on). however, they also post a lot of awful music by people with no talent (e.g. gucci mane, yung la etc.). what i’m trying to say is, if shake & meka pride themselves on having good taste in music and promoting good music, why do they waste space on post like this…?

i’m not complaining about receiving free music. i said they post a lot of good music, and if it wasn’t for them i would never have heard it. what i’m asking is, why do they promote mainstream garbage like gucci mane & yung la? because even in some of their post of gucci mane songs they make fun of his lack of talent. why even bother posting his music if they, and most people who visit the site, don’t like or listen to it?
There are people who visit the site who are fans of said artists. So they post for the masses, not just for the underground hip-hop heads. Its basic marketing.
Its simple. there are 50 people that visit this site. 45 like Underground, 5 like Mainstream. They aren’t just gonna be like “fuck you five, this real hip hop.” thats just un-blogsmen like.
