Now this is dope. The legendary Beatles member joins the Legendary Roots Crew to perform Game Theory's "Here I Come" on Jimmy Fallon's show.

Is (The Beatles) really necessary...
Extremely dope though.
ah haha the great Ringo Starr with the Roots Crew... who woulda known?
So who's this Ringo guy? He seems kinda old to be in a band.
beaux, lol just the word "Starr" is probably more popular than the words "Jay-Z", "U2" and "Dr. Dre".
is fuckin clooney serious? ringo is a LEGEND... RIP to john lennon btw
To bad Ringo was the member with little to no actual talent.
I've heard of John Lennon at least. I forget what team he played on though.
^ can't really say much when you've had little to no actual experience listening to their music, dude.
Are you talking to me?
ah ok, haha yeah I am, lol.
Slaughterhouse > Lupe > Jay Electronica> The Beatles
And you would know how much experience I have listening to the Beatles how?
"B.E.A.T." (unfinished word reffering to the group) > Jay Elect > everything else.
fuckingtruth, you sound like you have no experience listening to them... just saying.
wow, (the beatles).....really?..lol..
@ the fucking truth...u are one cynical fuk man just keep repeating what you think you re supposed to say that ll make you interesting i swear!.....your real response is holy shit a beatle with the roots!....i wish this was a longer clip
I think I seen Meka post something once that said Method Man (Wu Tang Clan).
^ haha that woulda been great to witness.
Don't get me wrong, the Beatles are a legendary band, and they're impact on music is undeniable, John Lennon was a genius, George was a great guitarist, and Paul is a great singer and bass player, but anyone who knows a little bit about drumming will tell that Ringo was not a great drummer, he was just average. So yeah its cool and great for the Roots to be performing with someone like Ringo Starr, but he's not a legend because of his ability, he's a legend because of what he was part of.
^yeah, he wasn't the greatest drummer, that position would have to go to Keith Moon from The Who, Bonzo from Led Zep or Mitch Mitchell from the Jimi Hendrix Experience. But he did have great moments, especially on Abbey Road and Let It Be.
i did like some of Ringo's songs though.... "A Little Help From My Friends", anyone?
fcuk jay leno
True, all I was doing was stating that Ringo is not that great of a musician, but its cool for that the Roots that they performed with him.
i always heard drum instructors say "play like ringo" cuz he played the songs so well tho...method man (wutang clan) thats like george washington (america)
His contributions to the group go a little further than just his drumming skills (or lack thereof); he was the friendly easygoing yin to John's cynical and sometimes egotistical yang. People often cite Paul as the opposite of John, when in fact they were really just two sides to the same coin. George was too busy trying to get more of his songs on actual albums and resenting Paul to really fill in that role of mediator, which was why John even cited Ringo as being the glue within the group. Strangely enough, he was also the first one to (un)officially quit the group, but he only left for a day or so. In any case, his relaxed demeanor and comedic presence was integral to the group's success in the US, cos John had pissed a lot of people off with certain comments, and Paul was more worried about his own personal gain than making the group work as a cohesive unit. Meanwhile, a lot of people didn't even know who the fuck George Harrison was. What I'm getting at is, he may not have been the best drummer, but he was the heart of the band.
Im not gonna get in a Beatles argument, because honestly Im not much of a fan, all I wanted to do was defend my statement, I never said he wasn't a good guy or attacked his contributions to the band, I was just stating something from a musical stand point
^exactly. case closed. point. blank. period.
i was talking to George Clooney by the way haha. Oh, dont forget to donate to the Red Cross for the people of Haiti! and Shake, could you post up the new MGMT joint when it's released?
So.... No harm done?
Is MGMT releasing they're first single off Congratulations soon, or something?
THE BEATLES RULE
ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS EVER
no. on to the next rock topic lol. matter of fact, 2dopeboyz should have a Rock section.
oh, and yes they are actually. the albums coming out in spring and theyre actually, no joke, doing "something" with Paul McCartney on the album haha. like, no lie. they wont talk about it much cause its "top secret". and they might do something at the Grammys.
Yeah I heard about the McCartney thing, didn't know they were releasing a song off it anytime soon though...
hopefully, we could see the single out in a couple weeks... im dying to hear it. definetly waiting on that Radiohead album, too.
Those that doubt Ringo must not have heard "Octopus Garden."
god damn haha, "Octopus's Garden" is great. guess they have'nt heard "I Wanna Be Your Man" either lol.
who was the beautiful violin played in black with Ringo on Jimmy Fallons show on 12 January 2010 .She was sooo sexy
cosign w/ above i know it isnt rap, but it would be cool if the new MGMT could be posted here
damn.that IS dope.(haven't even pressed play yet)
"The Fucking Truth" gotta be the most ignorant piece of shit ever
This posts are starting to get filled with trolls in the comment section. It is a shame... first nahright now 2dbz... we need a blog where we can comment without trolling fools talking about irrelevant shit.
How was anything I said ignorant? People like you who just throw the word ignorant around, without actually knowing what it means are ignorant.
They should give the roots their own show god dammit.
I never saw anyone as stupid as this fake George Clooney.
Actually a lot of drummers site Ringo as being a huge influence on them and consider him a pioneer of sorts. Also the other Beatles all commented at one point or another at how amazing Ringo was at keeping a perfect beat and always needed only one take.
