But the Dream comparing himself to a great like Sam Cooke is just stupid especially since his style and music is nowhere in the ballpark of Sam Cooke. Not hating just keeping it real. I mean there’s nothing about this song that screams sam cooke. i mean, all this falls under peoples own opinion but to say the-dream is nowhere near sam cooke would be non sense. the-dream’s ghostwriting alone is impressive as is. he’s got lyrics that most r&b singers dont have, and better yet, they use his lyrics. the-dream is an amazing writer and artist. as for this track, well u decide whether its sam cooke style or not…

I can accurately say BIG influences Ross, without meaning Ross is a good as BIG. Just as The-Dream can compare his vocal styling on this track to Sam Cook and not mean it as a comparison of quality. And if you dont hear the stylistic similarities, you haven’t heard enough Sam Cooke beyond Cupid and Change. I would suggest, Nothing Can Change This Love.
And for the Record, “Fancy” is as good as anything Cooke ever did. I mean that as compliment to both The-Dream and Cooke. I don’t co-sign this who “everything about the past is better than what is being done nowadays” BS.
