Banks is a top 3 lyricist in the game right now. Seriously. Its like Em, Banks and Lupe.
Right now I still have to say I think The Cold Corner has been the best from this series but with that said, I feel that My Bad, Better You Know Me, Look Ma, Rather Me Be Me, and Only Human are the best records !!! There are others that were dope. I just wish the tape had been a little harder ala Workout Banks from the early G Unit days !!! I hope he saved that shit for the album !!!

Holy shit balls, finally. Been waitin for this for such a long time. Banks prob be my fav MC in the game rite now – or up there wit Nas, Lupe, Jigga, Crooked, and few others. Regardless of what anyone says hes got a dope ass flow, sick wordplay, and hard ass lyrics – some of the sickest punches Ive heard. Yes, hes not as dope as he was back when he was coming up and hungry as a fuck. Im about 4 tracks in and am def not dissapointed with this. His albums gunna be nice, he just needs better production then his previous shits. Collabs with Primo, Dre, MO$$, Statik Selektah, Just Blaze, would be sick.

My Bad ,Whos Your Favorite, Better You Know Me, Rather Be Me, Only Human, The Get Back, Green Day, and Bully are my favs. Thats pretty much the whole tape, lol. The others arent bad either. So – bottom line – if your a Banks fan, or a fan of gritty, lyrical punchline rap then def dl this.
Whoo Kid doesnt drown out the musical content with drops that are way louder then the track and 999 rewinds and shit, either, which is suprising and does the tape justice.

I mean, Weezy goes whole tracks spitting nothing but punchlines and so does Fab. And they use metaphors as well, not just simile’s. There is a difference between metaphors and simile’s that most rappers fail to realize.

Ive been listening to Banks since they came out and RIGHT NOW Banks is the best he’s ever been. If you want pure punchline rap then you’ll prefer his old shit. But if you want an all around lyricist with crazy wordplay, crazy flow and just all around talent then you will prefer his new shit. He’s matured so much as a MC since then. He’s like the only one of the niggas from the punchline era that you can say that about, the rest just stayed punchline rap and faded out. (Im looking at you Cassidy)
