Everybody loves the underdog. They love to talk about the “new shit” no one else had heard yet. When Asher Roth first dropped, Hip Hop heads loved him because he was something fresh and NEW (aka average listeners probably hadn’t heard of him yet). Now that he’s in the spotlight and more “mainstream,” ppl get all sour. I’m not a big Asher Roth fan and never was…I think he’s ok. Whether he’s in the spotlight or not doesn’t change my opinion of him. And for the record, the whole sexuality issue is a waste of time. This is why bloggers get a bad rep. true story.
wow you people don’t understand what a real person is. if that video doesn’t assure Asher Roth is a realist I don’t know what will. His album is very good actually. his sells weren’t amazing but still very solid. Not everyone is going to have the perfect debut album like kanye. I think hip hop should be more gay friendly because half these rappers that act hard and say faggots are real suspect. no homo is suspect because you said something gay and then you use the phrase as a cover up. Listen to the music if you like it you like it but don’t start hating on someone because of rumors
