I did a tape this morning. literally started at midnight and recorded til noon today. i was inspired by a tweet i did and well this is the product. It’s different from the other tapes because it’s ACTUALLY like a typical mixtape MINUS the tracklisting.. and it TOTALLY emphasizes my rapping only. This is the between tape before Vol. Three in February.

my original post was completely misinterpreted.
i didn’t say anything about the artist. the comment was a “manifestation” of what i thought when i saw the post. for the sake of adding context, i was uploading a video to youtube at the time (HD so it takes a long time). I didn’t want to slow it down by downloading a mixtape that could potentially be terrible.
given that most of us have similiar taste due to this being a hip hop blog, i’ll download because some of you guys think he’s dope.
its like a movie, (idk about you guys) but i rarely see a movie that i know nothing about and/or doesn’t have good reviews. yeah, i realize that you have to pay for the movie but time is more important than money. it would take time to download and listen.

look at it this way, if he put time and effort into the tape, why not do the same with the track listing and artwork.
The first thing you see when you’re looking for new music…say, at the store…are those two things. I mean shit, It’s just a bunch of beats with some freestyle on it. I could give a fuck how witty you re, that’s not putting much work in.
Summing that up, for an indie musician, the artwork represents how much work you put in and how much you actually believe in what you’re putting out. If someone googled a piece of shit (literally) and was like “This is my artwork”, then you know how much they care, and if they dont, as a listener why should I?

But lately I’ve began to realize the difference in good material and that whole abstract image people try to build themselves up as.
I agree with JL, as an indie artist you’ve got to do your very best to present yourself every time you put something out.

Yo this shit is dope. And considering that he did all this in less than 24 hours, that should give testament to how talented the dude is. The dude likes power rangers, what’s wrong with him putting it into his cover? And I thought that the tracklist was pretty creative the way he used his name with the original artist’s names. If you aren’t convinced by the images, then fine, here’s a testament from someone who already listened to it. IT’S DOPE, it’s worth a listen. If you want to listen first before you download, go to his website and just listen to it there before you download.
Side-note: That’s the problem with Hip-Hop today. People are more focused on the images rather than the actual content. That’s how you can have people like a Nicki Minaj getting more props than a Jean Grae or a Mae Day, when those two are CLEARLY better rappers than Nicki Minaj.
