In this interview Phalary42 of TheMashUp spoke to Illecism as he drops info about the long-awaited Tengo Un Refresco album, revisits an early influence on his music and discusses his views on Sacramento’s hip hop scene. He also speaks on diversity being more present within Sacramento than in LA. As touchy as that subject may sound, Illecism keeps the respect for his southern Californian counterparts. I am from and live in Sacramento right now, and I have to disagree. L.A.’s scene is better. No disrespect, but there’s no Sacramento rappers I listen to. But, I respect Illecism, he’s from the neighborhood around the way, so at least he’s reppin’ for Sacramento.
