    Oddly enough the crux of your argument actually reinforces the uniqueness, and claimed divinity of Jesus. As you rightly point, out the claims he made would be that of someone with an unstable mind state. Yet Jesus garnered a following, and after his crucifixion and burial, something special happened. Christianity began to grow with vigor. You can argue Jesus was a madman, but I would like to see some evidence put forward to support your contention. I think the historical evidence leads elsewhere.
