The Ecstatic was the realist piece of hip-hop to drop in ’09
He’s evolved past the whole “let me just try to come up with some witty shit” thing…
This album he actually approached it as a songwriter and still kept it hip-hop
Smh at people saying Ecstatic was wack, not only was it one of the best hip-hop/rap albums of the year, it was probably one of the best albums any genre. The Ecstatic was a work of art from start to finish, and if you can’t hear that, then you need to get your ears checked.
really. i have to know. why are people considering this album so wack? mos’ style did change a bit..but i don’t see whats wrong with it. he still brings real shiet. real topics, and he is bringing a new style to the table.

the ecstatic album was amazing, mos def is one of the most talented in hip hop. pretty much everything he puts out is mad good. and i have to say “travellin man” is such a dope song. it’s in my top 5 songs without a doubt

Wow I always thought the weakest song on the album was twilight speedball. Super Magic goes so hard. This is my favorite album this year so much positive energy. I looked pass having an artist keep one style even thought you want that old school hip hop flow. But its better when an artist can grow and do new things. One of the reasons mos is in my top 5

I think its basically like a comparison between Mos his flow,skill,wordplay compared to like the supernatural. Like he’s so incredibly supernatural that at times he’s not even human. I think.. lol

Am I the only one who thinks it’s stupid that people mention Wayne or Drake in a comments section for Mos Def’s vid? And why any defence of Mos has to be “hes better than lil wayne”, as if you’re not allowed to like both :S Wayne isn’t wack at all… Ecstatic is one of the best albums this year too.
See, the people who say that Mos’s album sucks is the reason why real shit doesn’t sell and receive the noteriety that it deserves.
