Here goes another new track from Charles Hamilton. Off his upcoming Normalcy project, which I believe is still dropping December 9th. But who knows with this guy haha.

Word… whatchu think about it Shake? I think it’s good and I’m just glad this dude is making music again… I remember when he made like a few mixtapes per week and at least 2 or 3 hits were insured… consistency made him hot [||]

If he stopped doing his own hooks in that moaney, whiney voice this and many other songs would be way better. I wish he would put out The Pink Lavalamp type music cause that was CH at his best.

Nice to see he’s back making music, hopefully Asher Roth will come out of hibernation too.

simple but enjoyable beat. Liked the flow better than CH is back. but he finally made a hook that doesn’t annoy me. Is it Wednesday yet?
hm.. said this on December 7th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
I think Charles planned his hiatus this whole time. I think his shitty quality stuff was also intentional. I think that the she he said about j dilla and that whole shit was also part of the plan so that he could have an incredible return. But you know that’s my opinion, dude didn’t pay much attention to the j dilla situation and seemed to not care so much for his music but all of a sudden his shit sunds like “pink lavalamp” and “broklyn girls”. If there’s one thing i realised about charles is that he’s able to play mind games, seeing how 2dopeboyz is runned by two very slow mods that enjoy Brother Ali (ew fuck ew) and other shit (you like jey elec so it’s fine by me) then okay maybe his “stupid” action may seem like an actual stupid action. He likes attention and he loves hate, you don’t listen to his lyrics to realise that he thrives off hate.
XYZ said this on December 7th, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I’m glad he’s mastering/mixing his music! CH is back (hopefully)…
I don’t see why people hate so much, his hooks could eventually have B.o.B appeal, minus the southern accent.

People are surprised because the majority of his material that’s he released hasn’t been good. When you flood the game with inconsistent material, most of which is poor and not memorable, then naturally people will expect it to be bad. That’s not to say people didn’t think he had talent or was capable of making quality music, just that his track record, at the time, wasn’t revealing that.

I used to think that about Charles’ stuff as well, that there were only a could of memorable tracks in each one, but there have been times where it’s drifted to a track I perhaps wouldn’t select and think “Damn, I like this track!”, or catch what he means when he says something. His old stuff is still growing on me. Too bad he didn’t give us enough time to digest his music befoe putting out new material…now I’m gonna have to get used to him releasing tracks instead of entire mixtapes at a time, hahah.

please explain lil wayne (and his army of stanleys) to me quickfast. im not shooting at you at all but i dont agree with that. people just pick at certain people for reasons that generally have nothing to do with music.

but with Lil’ Wayne, at the time he was putting out massive material, a LOT of it was quality. I mean, the Dedications were excellent (1 & 2), and even the Drought series were good, especially Drought 3.
JF Kennedy said this on December 7th, 2009 at 8:08 pm
robertTHEallen, JF Kennedy more or less is pointing out that Lil Wayne built up loyalty between his fans by releasing material that was consistent in quality for Lil Wayne. While I don’t enjoy the majority of it, I can say I enjoy various tracks off the Carter 3 recording sessions that did not make the final album. Finally, Wayne gave his fans a pretty dope album that for the most part was better than the free material he had already won them over with.
There’s also other factors like Lil Wayne has been in the industry for a very long time (since he was like 10.) He has a financial backing from Baby. Baby has connections and understands the industry to some degree (obviously someone in the crew does because look where they are today).
Charles Hamilton reminds me what a young Joe Budden would have been if he alienated the commercials. There’s too many similarities between the two. For the most part they can make dope hip-hop but they always alienate a huge percentage of listeners through their antics. I’m not saying that everything they create is dope but they both have the clear potential in them to create classic material. It’s a matter of focusing the talents. Hamilton alienates his fans through antics like getting punches in his face by a girl (bad PR, he handled it like a good human being but the public is fickle). Next it was the Dilla fiasco. Budden had the Wu fiasco. Hamilton released too much one-take tracks. Budden releases too much poorly mixed/mastered material. This isn’t too say Wayne doesn’t have antics but he had more or less secured his commericial spot.
I do agree with you though that Wayne releases a lot of shit music. Matter of fact 2/3rd of the Carter 3 was dope and basically everything after that is ass. I’m confused on how anyone can enjoy this Rebirth material. Yet, I also understand the “it” factor. Once you secure your position as the new hotness, which only last so long, you can do no wrong while you’re in that position. Case in point, 50 made Candy Shop and people loved it yet after losing that position he makes Amusement Park and nobody likes it (for good reason too).
There’s a lot of factors.

Not everybody has to like Brother Ali dude…. opinions of music are exactly that, opinions, which is exactly why I love that Meka/Shake hate on retards like Gucci when these days, the general public is in love with that dumb fuck. And the notion that hip hop is being kept alive is laughable, anybody that thought it was dying to begin with is either a lemming following daddy Nas or just doesn’t look in the right places/listen to the right music. There are tons of sick rappers and groups out there right now. In a year that has brought OB4CL2, Cudi’s debut album, Til The Casket Drops, Brooklynati, amongst many others, hip hop is in a good place, believe that.

You apparently take my comments too seriously but glad you’ve been noticing them…Even though Lupe is my favorite rapper today, and currently the best rapper alive..Nas will always be my favorite of all time…With that being said…
People took Nas’s ‘hip hop is dead’ phrase out of context, He was saying it basically to challenge a lot of rappers to step they games up…Go back and listen to the album and pay attention to the lyrics you idiot..When’s the last time you even heard Nas say anything about hip hop being dead?? That cd fucking came out 3 years ago..Anyway, As long as mainstream/played out music about the same played-out topics dominates record sales and radios, hip hop still has work to do…This is why we hear Drake everywhere but not many know about J. Cole..Even though Drake is good but not as good as he used 2 be..He has been making a lot of hip pop music lately tailor made for the radio/club scene, since then he’s blown up…I prefer thought-provoking music with meaning/concept/value behind it where lyricism is the main focus..Which is why Nas and Lupe stay up in the headphones

Nas didn’t do it to challenge anybody, he did it to sell records. The same way he tried to call his last album Nigger. Don’t get me wrong, Nasir will always be up there for me for the GOAT argument but he simply contradicts himself too much for me to take him seriously sometimes. I’ll use a Jay-Z snippet to explain exactly what I’m sayin’
And y’all buy the shit, caught up in the hype
Cause the nigga wear a coofie, it don’t mean that he bright
Cause you don’t understand him, it don’t mean that he nice
It just means you don’t understand all the bullshit that he write
Is it “Oochie Wally Wally” or is it “One Mic”?
Is it “Black Girl Lost” or shorty owe you for ice?
I’ve been real all my life, they confuse it with deceit
Since I will not lose, they try to help him cheat
But I will not lose, for even in defeat
There’s a valuable lesson learned, so it evens it up for me
And I always thought that summed Nas up pretty well, from how he completely flips on some of the things he says, and even does the same shit in real life (the whole Kelis situation?)…
I’m not disagreeing that the mainstream sucks and that most shit on the radio/is making money is terrible, but there is so much good music out there and at the end of the day the people who are really in it to make good music will be left standing.
Also, I love Lupe, Food & Liquor is one of my favorite albums of all time, but it just gets obnoxious when you take being such a blatant stan to a certain level, you feel me?
To paraphrase the dopeboyz: “What’s a Jonnie Hayward?”

Wow and after Jay-z said all that he got ethered..Nas didn’t name his album Nigger for record sales…if that’s the case none of the songs on the album would have had nothing to do with the album title..basically your saying he comes up with random album titles to sell records?? Listen to what he is saying on these cds…matter fact listen to the very last track on Hip Hop is Dead..where he is rappin acapella, it basically sums up the whole message of Hip Hop is Dead…and listen to N.I.G.G.E.R., Be a Nigger Too, Project Roach, Black President, Sly Fox, and Fried Chicken from Nigger album..all of those songs are relevant to the album title lyrically..I think Nas is comfortable enough with his place in hip hop to the point he doesn’t care too much about record sales…he can sell 1 record nd still have a record deal because of his legendary status…Lyricism has always been his main focus..Nas has always lyrically been more consistent than Jay-z…

Wrong, Ether followed Takeover, that verse I posted is from Blueprint 2… only song Nas did regarding the battle following Blueprint 2 was Last Real Nigga Alive. So get ya shit straight. Also, if you’re going to reference the song Hope, maybe YOU should go back and listen to it.
“And I say what I say, and I mean it
Y’all take it how you wanna take it
Cause if you’re askin’ – Why is hip-hop dead?
It’s a pretty good chance you’re the reason it died, man”
So like I was saying before, he was saying that it was dead, which now and even then was untrue. The mainstream, as most rap fans knew it, WAS and IS dead. But that doesn’t mean hip hop altogether is dead. Thats an ignorant fucking statement. Also, just because someone uses a concept for an album and sticks with it does not mean that part of it was not done to sell records. While Nas is one of if not the most respected MCs, his last two album title’s completely branched from the relatively simple and unchanged theme he has stuck with for his other albums. He goes from Illmatic, Stillmatic, It Was Written, etc., to Hip Hop is Dead and Nigger? Come on dude. Don’t be stupid.
@Jimbo
I’m pretty sure that as much as a lot of people like the Clipse, no one would dare to put them in a GOAT argument… which is why flip flopping is not as big of a deal regarding them as it is with Nas. I like the Clipse, but I’m not listening to them for lyrical ability to the extent I do for Nas. Nor would I listen to OB4CL2 (which I also mentioned) for lyrical content. Same concept. Different expectations for different MCs
