During a convo with Mixtape Daily, CuDi reveals that his sophomore release will be “more playful and fun” than his debut. Good, because one of my gripes with Man On the Moon is that I get all depressed after listening.
“Cudder, I already got five tracks locked in,” he told us recently in New York. “We got Snoop, we got Pharrell. I just was in the studio with him. We got Jim Jonsin. I did a record with him. I’m gonna get back in the studio with him. Trying to get the right amount of hit records on this. It’s gonna be the complete opposite of what Man on the Moon was. Man on the Moon was so serious. This one is gonna be more playful and fun. It’s about having a good time.”
Cudi has also been building a wave of guest collaborations from Pharrell to Snoop Dogg.
Hip Hop, Video“People reaching out to me wanting to collab is so bugged out,” Kid admitted. “I remember when nobody wanted to do any song with me, let alone listen to my sh–. It’s been humbling since Kanye reached out. People seek my creativity; that’s dope. I don’t do the normal sh–. I don’t make the normal songs. So when people reach out, that means they’re on the same frequency.”
Cudi is probably most excited about the remix of Consequence’s “Whatever You Want” with Kanye, Common, John Legend and Big Sean, and he wants to include the entire fam when they reunite.
“We gotta do it again,” Cudi said. “We gotta get everybody. We gotta have the GLCs, Really Doe, the Bentleys — everyone ripping it and dropping gems.”

THANK GOD its going to be more playful man on the moon was sooo depressing
this will be dope
But the introspective and depressing nature of “Man On The Moon” is what made it so dope. I listen to that album almost every night just on some solo meditative ish.
I sort of wasn’t too much of a fan of his “playful” songs as much as the “emo” joints, but if he’s doing some more rapping, like on “Is There Any Love” and stuff like that, then I’m definitely excited for the next album.
I hope he still throws in a couple of meditation joints. “A Kid Named Cudi” was diverse like that and it certainly worked.
hmm idk what to expect hopefully he don’t go some lil wayne shit
cool he smokes alot of weed an cries… remind me why i should buy his album again?
I hate that he calls himself “Cudder”
fuck thats annoying
Man on the moon was mad depressive, but it was dope I guess that was something he had to get outta his system, Cudder should dope hopefully he links up with Lupe, be interesting to hear them two together
Hyyer Remix.
Hell. Yes.

better keep ratatat on there
I agree with Mike Dreams, like the “Man on the Moon” was so dope, and I listen to it everyday cause it’s a story of him going into this world and coming back out stronger. And I don’t mind “A Kid Named Cudi” cause he definatley got some bangers on there like “The Prayer,” “T.G.I.F.,” “Maui Wowie,” but…
What I’m worried about is if he decides to go way to different and get on this Lil Wayne train and change his whole flow and realness. One of the reason why I listen to him so much is because of his EMOTIONAL HONESTY. Probably even more than Drake is doing right now.
I like the “emo style better though to be honest cause it’s totally relatable to my life everyday.
