On the Level w/ Dame Dash & Creative Control (Video)

From the incredible dope BlakRoc project to having a hand in the creation of Mos Def, Jay Electronica and Curren$y’s new group, Center Edge Territory. Dame Dash has been the man as of late. Here goes a recent feature with StreetLevel where Dame speaks on how he plans to revolutionize the net with directors Coodie & Chike (and creativecontrol.tv). Check as he talks about where he’s been and where he’s going with Creative Control, the DD172 space and “Karate School.”

Res – Black.Girls.Rock! (Free LP)

C/O OKP:

This came just in time. After bumping Idle Warship’s mixtape, Party Robot, we were definitely craving some solo work from all three members of the group. Looks like Res is up first. She recently put out this free 10-track album entitled, Black.Girls.Rock! (they surely do). Those of you who fell in love with Res’ debut, How Do I, should enjoy the progression on this new project.

Tracklist and link under the cut.

Clipse Talk Til the Casket Drops (Video)

With their album finally dropping next week, Pusha and Malice explain the stories behind several tracks. The above clip features Push speaking on his favorite track, Freedom. As well as both of them on how their mistakes are deeper than rap.

NEW YORK — The Clipse’ new LP, Til the Casket Drops, is finally coming out next week, and all the brother-duo can do is smile.

“I was just vibing out to it,” Malice said of the album recently. “I don’t [usually] listen to [the album]: I do it, I lay it down, I wait for it to get ready, then I go back and absorb it. I feel sorry for a lot of cats. We got that album right now.”

After hearing the snippets (that first song is flames on wax), this album looks to sound pretty dope to me.

Cy Yung’s SoulTrain Dancer: A Tribute To Rosie Perez has been in the works for years, now, but the wait is OVER! I got word that its set to drop December 15th, and was given a lil snippet tape to pass about. Enjoy. Everything is produced by J. Slikk. – khal

Freddie Gibbs: The Labels Tryin’ to Kill Me Infomercial (Video)

A dope little infomercial to promote Freddie Gibbs’ upcoming project, The Labels Tryin’ to Kill Me, which drops December 1st. Over 80 tracks for $FREE.99. And for those wondering, it’s a mix of Fred’s best verses and freestyles chopped and mixed back to back to back, not 80 full tracks haha.

This project even contains gun totin, bitch smackin, and hoe bashin, and as a bonus, the first callers will get free blunts!

Switching sounds for a little bit, OcTo just shot over this track off RJD2′s upcoming 2010 release, The Colossus. We need songs like this smooth cut to balance out all the damn rap in our lives…
