ayo shake, got a question. I’ve been slackin on Brother Ali a little, I’ve got his “The Truth is Here” album. where should I go for his best stuff? Same thing with Atmosphere. I know you love them too, and all Ive got is “When life gives you lemons…”. What do you recommend on coppin first for both of them??? thanks

I know you asked Shake, but i’ll chime in. “Shadows on the Sun” in Brother Ali’s tour de force so i’d start there. (Despite what Waaa says that’s not his first album, its his second). If you dig that than check out “The Undisputed Truth”. You can pretty much put together his whole life from his albums.
As far as Atmosphere goes, I’d go with “Lucy Ford” first, but you may dig “God Loves Ugly”. The “When Life Gives…” is dope but that’s probably their most laid back release and the first time they used live instruments.
For the record, “US” isn’t my favorite Ali record but its still pretty amazing. Its just the first record where the stories aren’t about him so its different.

atmosphere – get the whole discography really. gems throughout the sad clown series and everyone has a different opinion as to what their fav. album is (some say overcast, alot say god loves ugly, some sevens travels and even some you cant imagine..)
