  17. I can say I am honestly impressed…I don’t like a couple of the beats, that better then the rest one especially, but this is truly good shit

  28. this is 2 dope! Def gettin heavy rotation on the show this week!

  29. 585 STAND UP!!

  30. Fire!!!!

  31. Waited to comment until I heard it, I think this is easily tape of the year. Great lyrics, diverse content, dope production and no features. You have one more fan mr rojas

  32. Legit impressed

  33. You cannot bitch about hip hop anymore this is fuckingdope

  34. This shit goes hard

  35. Wow this kid is special I fucks with this

  36. i’m on listen #3…his best to date. more props for standing dolo and not filling the tape with buku guest spots like a lot of artists do today.

  37. i like this kid. but hate his voice..lyrically i like, but there isn’t any passion behind his voice..i know dopeboyz might attack me for that, but they can’t argue it. i cant rap or make beats but i think thats more reason why the opinion counts. I still BUY music. not just an avid downloader. other than that he makes cool tracks. but the synth beat overkill is a 2nd reason i dont usually jump on his stuff.

  38. if you ain’t lovin yourself then whos lovin you?
    -emilio rojas

i got onto emilio from hearing keelay & zaire / the sole vibe — if any1 wants to holler at me for some of their older work get at me scoggs1@gmail.com

  39. Kilt it homie!

  40. wow !! this is is fire. words are real deep! i’ve been waiting on this mix for a while. congrats man! this should easilly take you into the next level! don’t forget your peeps in upsdate ny tho.

  41. Everyone has an opiniomn but I got to disagree on the lack of passion. This is my first tme hearing homie and he got a different type of voide but he can simply rap his ass off. Will look out for more

  42. yesss about time!!!!…..but worth the wait!!!!
congrats Emilio and Green another dope mixtape in HEAVY rotation

  43. Wow this shit is fie

  44. Some of the beats are so so buts raps are fire. I like the lack of guests

  45. I wasn’t too thrilled with the beats on the tape because of its commercial sound. And Emilio Rojas shows that he’s lyrical, but it’s overshadowed by a commercial veil. The auto-tune had me dying -LMAO. BUT I absolutely love SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL.

  46. It won’t add tracks 10-14 on my itunes for some reason… help someone??

  47. Definitly an emcee to look out for, its only the beginning!

  48. Yeah this is dope I didn’t like recessionproof joint but this is really cool to me

  49. SmoothBreak was well said…its trying too hard be commerical..and again..in response to jesse d..i wasnt saying he cant rap…but he definitely has no “umph”in his voice…its very halfhearted. and the inability to keep concepts throughtout an entire song make each song haphazzard.

  50. Sounds like a album not tape props

  51. Lyrics and beats ahhhhhhhhhh hip hop

  52. Freshman 10

  53. FIYAH!!! and Emilio Im proud of u homie.. KEEP GOIN!!! and for all them dudes saying dont forget your upstate peeps your probably the type he cant but forget cuz these moments of success are what makes the naysayers eat their fuckin words… SHOUT OUT TO GREENLANTERN.. WELCOME HOME HOMIE!!!! 585… its only the beginning

  54. this shit is crazy! could have been an album imo.

    2010 Freshman…or else.

  55. I was gonna pass on this but with all the comments gonna check

  56. This is an album and a dope one at it

  66. I cannot fuck with this at all

  67. Very Impressive…Emilio is deffinately one of the most impresive artists coming out this year..keep hitting em cant wait 4 more!!

  68. Why does wackflocka or whatever and oj da juiceman have deals and not this kid? He could rap

  69. Champ5ound you got NO clue what you are talking about. you dont know emilio or how he sounds when hes not rapping so how do you know he isnt passionate about his music by the way his voice sounds. dont make comments like that about people. i know this dude really well – hes probably one of the most passionate ppl i know about this rap shit – you dont always have to look for something negative to say. if somethings dope its dope, give credit where creit is due!
THIS SHITS DOPE EMILIO, reading thru the comments on here i hardly see one bad thing to be said about this tape. shits sounding more like an album homie, good for you.

  70. Champ5ound EAT A DICK!

  71. Good project much better then I thought it would be. Respect

  72. couldnt be more proud !! “the natural” is amazing
    xo

  73. the bold and arrogant beat shoulda gone to PAC DIV. and it would’ve been a hit. it was a waste here…this is alot of “im from a city where….” and im ararogant cause…very repetitive.

  74. [...] Presented by the dopehouse & RubyHornet, with features from Mikkey Halsted, Emilio Rojas (grab The Natural now), Astonish and more. Expect two versions. A mixtape version and an album version with all [...]

  75. I really fuck with this. That runway joint is serious only just begun to

  76. Wow this is honestly dope

  77. i like this alot, just downloaded, ive seen his music but never took a listen, NOW IM HOOKED RT

  78. I don’t get the negative comments though not many. This is a great tape with a lot of joints…bold and arrogant, runway, tic toc, etc. And its free and better then most albums we buy. Thumbs up

  79. Lots of comments guess I will dl haha

  80. This shit right here is fire. Impressed

  81. I checked this on the strength of green and apparently green knows talent this kid is dope, he have other shit out??

  88. I agree with the rest this shit is fire…kid is next

  89. Bold and arrogant countdown only just begun I want it all there are mad joints on this

  95. [...] After a few delays and setbacks DJ Green Lantern and Emilio Rojas finally drop The Natural, with the artwork done by Shake. Tracklist  and link down bottom.  By way of: 2dopeboyz [...]

  96. The tape is a cool, emilo did his thing.Props to Shake on the artwork

  97. Beautiful.

  98. Rape’s incredible? hahah just playin’ fam! I’ve been down with Emilio since I heard dude with Don Cerino, glad to see shits starting to work in his favor…2dopeboyz should do a freshman class seein how XXL is passin’ on it this year…Theres a handful of obvious ones, but there’s a lotta good dudes comin up..

  99. Dope project good looks

  100. this shit is so dope i wanna drink my juice to it coz I’m da Juiceman!

  101. This is natural, home town dj and no features. No lil wayne, or ;ay z or kanye but someone gonna need to cosign soon

  102. Like 100 comments had to check glad I did joint is tough

  103. First Time Listening & Won’t Be My Last..Damn I Was Sleep

  104. this is on par with some of the better albums i’ve bought over the years. very polished blend of lyricism and commercial appeal with a little bit of boom bap. kid did his thing, hopefully the industry will stop sleepin!

  105. One of the best mixtapes of the year. The kid has one of the best flows you’ll ever hear. Look out for him

  106. Tape of the year period

  107. I downloaded this mixtape off the strength of his flow and lyrics. Recession Proof was okay, but the beats were wack to me (opinion). But I decided to give Emilio another chance with this one. I listened to the whole mixtape last night, and there’s nothing rewind worthy. The beats were better, but the beats were the same synth-heavy bullsh** I heard on Recession Proof. And like I said, I think he’s dope because of his flow, but even his lyrics were average. The Natural sound like an extended version of Recession Proof, were he drops little substance here and there, then talks about the chicks he smashes.

    No hate.

  108. Xxl need to take notes for that wack ass cover of theirs without emlo after this tape it would be bullshit

  109. best shit I’ve heard in a minute…I dig this kid

  110. XXL COVER XXL COVER XXL COVER XXL COVER. if emilios not on it thats fucked up!

  111. the best out this year.

  112. Yo this is dope!!! This kid rocks it , got mad skills …

  113. we have been waiting for this for such a long time. Glad to finally hear this. Good luck, it’s the best

  114. anybody peep his Breath of Fresh Air album?good stuff..2dope showing this dude some serious love

  115. Very dope mix-tape!!!! I love the engineering on this record great work Borujow!!

  116. real talk I like emilio rojas but feel that this tape is a step down from his other mixtapes. He can flow but his songs dont have any playback value. His lyrics tend to be repetitive also. I know hes very lyrical and i like that but he has to work on the quality of his songs.

  117. I need to go ahead and agree with those calling for the xxl cover. This is a really impressive mixtape. Great lyrics, good beats and diverse topics. To have sympathy for the devil, breaking me down, countdown, live for the moment, bold and arrogant, etc all on one project is pretty nuts. Looking forward to whatever is next for mr rojas

  118. HOT, HOT, HOT!! Da boy is on fire!

  119. The man can flow but would like to see some other stuff than chick drama.

  120. Freshman 10, future star, classic tape, etc ect all of the above!

  121. good stuff bro

  122. I’ve been a fan of dude since ’06 (since the Raks One/Sycorax days) and I’ll always support dude, but this tape exposed him in a lot of ways. His flow is phenomenal and an inspiration to anybody coming up in his generation. That goes without saying. But this tape exposed him as an extremely limited writer in terms of his topics.

How many verses can you count on this entire tape where he’s not talking about his parents’ divorce/father leaving or “smashin chicks”? You cannot carry an entire tape (let alone an album when it comes down to it) on that alone. They are stories he’s already told. I was really impressed with the intro but even though his delivery was on point as always, dude’s subject matter needs to vary considerably.

“Recession Proof” showed a lot more versatility. Listen to the concepts on “A Breath Of Fresh Air”. That shit came out in like.. ’06, I think, and his subject matter (politics inside, and outside, of the US, social commentary, relationships, battle rhymes, unique concepts like “Up Your Speed” and storytelling) was considerably more diverse than what he’s on now.

Like I said, I support and always will. But off three listens, top to bottom, this is a disappointment.

  123. I have to disagree on the lack of diversity issue.  Rappers will always have topics they touch on a lot but there is a lot on this tape.  Politics, family issues, the way a generation acts (in a non blatant way on city lights), girl records, club joints, etc.  I also think the sounds are really diverse.  I have liked Emilio’s shit for a long time.  I do wish he did more political stuff because he kills it when he does but there is something for everyone on this tape without it being corny and that is hard to do.

  124. This is the best mixtape this year I think. Checked it out cause of all the comments and production lineup and this has me wowwowed

  125. Tape is album material and I appreciate the free download of this level of quality! I agree to some extent with the lack of topic diversity but then you look at all these other main stream artists and they really don’t have much more topic diversity than this. Pop bottles, got hot cars, I am from Brooklyn, I have sex with models etc…So he is in the same boat as them I guess but people just aren’t as interested in hearing about Rochester as Brooklyn, Harlem or Queens. I am from NYC so I get that. Give this kid a chance, he is real talent and we have not seen that in a while!

  126. i knew this would be good this aint no suprise for me hope he drops a no dj like recession proof

  127. really amazing proect

  128. this zip got a freakin virus on it

  129. smh. theres no viruses. get off that bulshit.

  130. I dl’d I didn’t get a virus I got a hot ass mixtape haha. More an album then a tape someone need to get smart and give homie a deal. Shit is dope

  131. usual dopeness as i expected

  132. i was looking at videos on youtube and theirs this track from Emilio rojas called “tell me” i am trying to find the mp3 but cant can you help me out 2dope?

  133. this shit is flames

  134. [...] Emilio Rojas links up with Boi-1da for a smooth ass joint that is featured on his newest mixtape, “The Natural”, with DJ Green Lantern. I haven’t gotten around to checking out the full tape yet (too much music nowadays), but I will have to make it a priority after hearing this joint and also because the tape featured additional production from M-Phazes, Grind Music (Sean C & L.V.), DJ Green Lantern, Nottz, Keelay & Zaire, 6th Sense, & more! Linkage courtesy of 2DopeBoyz. [...]

  135. this is the best tape from this year and I think Emilio is probably next one to blow

  136. I LOATH this guys voice. He sounds like a straight fag. To his credit he can rhyme, but it hard to get through it. The beats are fire though.

  137. i got no issue with his voice his rhymes or the beats this shit is the shit

  138. this is the shit

  139. glad I DL’d amazing tape
