At 14 y.o, Charles Misodi Njapa (not 88 yet) used to find loops for a big record vendor named John Guerrero… Some of you might know Guerrero as that biker dude who -himself- used to sell loops to Pete Rock, Q-Tip, Large Pro and ‘em at the Roosevelt Hotel Record Convention in the early 90′s… One day, during the summer of 91, young Charles saw his idol and future mentor park his silver 325i bima right in front of the shop… and this is how the story goes…
Shouts to gasface for always coming through with some original material.
Hip Hop, Video

that was entertaining…
That was nice story. It’s good to see when artist talk about the days of old before they get acclaim.
They messed up the last name of the record dealer, it’s John CARRERO. I met him when I was about 17 at a NY Holiday Inn Convention, there used to be a video of him up on YouTube explaining the Stark Reality and Power of Zeus records. He was a cool guy, had a great selection of records and provided a catalog of his records for sale. Here’s a text interview of him over at Soulman’s site: http://mhat.com/worldofbeats/volume15.html
One page from his mail order catalog of records: http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/8581/carrero.jpg
