Here is an unauthorized re-fix/remix of a Shafiq-Husayn track, from his brilliant release “Shafiq En’ A-Free-Ka” – which is one of the best and most inspiring records i’ve heard this year. It will be featured on “the Birds & the Beats,” a full length album i’m liberating for FREE on my birthday Nov 20th.
I’ve refrained to call it a mixtape ’cause it was previously a full length of 14 original tracks i was going to release. It’s now a 16 track digital-only album – 14 original tracks and 2 re-interpretations of a D’angelo track and a Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra) track. It’s me and my musical team’s gift to the people. Please do share with your readers. I’ll definitely shoot you guys the full record before its actually released to get your feedback if you have time. I actually have liner notes and everything for this one!
