No, this isn’t a new music video, however it is Malice and Pusha responding to the Waldorf and Statler contingent that run wild in the infamous Nah Right c-section. Props to Steven Victor.

clipse is nice but theyre no outkast
i dont know if any two rappers will ever get that kind of synergy ever again
Clipse for the win. Outkast better get their collective shit together lest they lose that title.
Love it….good to see some people not take themselves too seriously.
As for best duo ever…not quite…not necessarily their fault they just happened to come in at a time where their lyricism doesnt have the same impact. However to me they are this decades Mobb Deep and as far as I am concerned they are the best duo right now still doing it. In order to get the title they need more of a catalog, and I dont consider mixtapes part of a true catalog, so they need at least 2 more albums after this one to be on the same level as the greats when it comes to being the best ever i.e. of all time. They need to prove their consistency like EPMD and stay loyal enough to keep from imploding like Little Brother (who i guess were technically a trio) and not fall off like Mobb Deep. Duo’s are pretty rare nowadays because money, ego, jealousy or natural growth get in the way.
If I look at duos as either 2 emcees or 1 emcee/1 dj/producer combo’s then a top 5 all time might look something like this…taking into account impact in their era, legacy, influence, consistency and skills…not just their individual status either but how they work as a team.
1. Eric B & Rakim – Although I dont really think Eric B was the actual producer, it was his business skills, connects and probable criminal associations that gave Rakim his stage to essentially change the emceeing game forever. I dont think you can measure his influence because the people he influence now have birthed emcee children of their own…like Rakim –> Nas –> Lupe or Rakim –> Jay-Z–>Kanye/Lil Wayne–>Drake…its that deep. Although no longer relevant in the mainstream I cant dismiss the influence and impact this duo made on hip-hop
2.Outkast – They went 11x plat…on one album…oh, that wasnt real cause they counted one CD as two….which means they still sold 5.5 milli….and they did that in the midst of the pre-recession download era when sales were starting to decline. Plus they have albums like “Southernplaya…”, “Aquemini”, “Stankonia” and my personal favorite “ATLiens”…not to mention that Dre is to me one of the best ever when he actually feels like rhyming and Big Boi is underrated.
3. GangStarr – DJ Premiers sound became not only became his personal signature but also the sound for a whole era of hip-hop, and more importantly it became the benchmark. I aint really feeling the new Guru, but over Premiers beats he was the monotone beast…”my rhymes a cargo, yours is just a quarter ounce”
4. Kool G. Rap & Polo – they make my list for the same reasons Eric B & Rakim do, but not as high a position because of the legend of Rakim. But G Rap had the same influence on the game, people just dont acknowledge it as much. Kool G Rap –> Big Pun –> Joell Ortiz, add Nas, Jay, Ghostface and Raekwon to the list of direct descendants.
5. UGK – Although I am not personally a huge fan, I have to respect the work they put in. Whether you like that “southern sound” or not their hustle reflects what got the south to where it is today. RIP Pimp C and Bun B that he’s one of the G.O.A.Ts when it comes to features.
honorable mention to Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Boogie Down Productions (RIP Scott La Rock), Mobb Deep and of course the Clipse
haha their videos are always so wide-ranged. from blog coments dick-riding to crying to twirling in circles in an open field. Love it tho. I always love it when rappers dont take themselves too serious to make fun of themselves. Can’t wait for 12/8!
