This is crazy. I wanna hear Jay’s response. It’s a great move for G-Unit, but i don’t know if it’s a good move for Beans. First Mobb Deep sold out and now Beans. But I have to say Beans does make some good points about how dirty Jay did Dame. If it’s true then I have lost respect for Jay as a person. Can’t believe you would do that to one of your boys.

Anybody think Fifty could’ve thrown Beanie a check to get him over the edge with these complaints about Jay-Z? It’s funny how everyone is calling Beans a ho and a bitch just because he brings this shit up. If these accusations were about most other artists other than Jay-Z, people would be all over their case. Let’s be real here, regardless of the situation, Sigel brought up some interesting points that need to be addressed. Obviously Beanie knows that if he was lying, it could easily be brought out in the open, so I doubt he is. Either way it doesn’t matter. My qualms are with something else.
I’m a Jay-Z fan as an artist just like many other people but as a businessman, it seems he’s made a lot of Puffy-esque moves. We can’t say for sure yet but it seems that way. I suppose that is the nature of the business. People are sitting there saying that Jay gave his artists the open door and it was up to them. This is true to a degree but please. If it were another artist, everyone would be on the dissing bandwagon talking about how he’s a bitch, this and that because he didn’t promote their artist well. The fact of the matter is, we got Jay-Z on such a high pedestal that we are willing to look past a lot of things that we wouldn’t give other artists the luxury for. Also, we are willing to say that it’s just the haters talking shit because they’re mad but after what point is it not hate anymore and reality?
I do think that later on, Jay-Z separated himself from other artists that he was around because of the place he’s at now. Beanie touched on that in another interview about how he’s in another place and he understands that. I think Jay probably sat there and figured that if I am going to be around people like President Obama and Oprah, I can’t be around people who could possibly have a negative impact on my career and image. If you see how Jay talks in interviews now, you can see that he has this “Holier than thou” attitude going because of where he is in the music business. This is fine, because he has made it into the big time league but you still got to give explanations to people and keep it real.
Anyway, long post but I needed to put in my two cents.

@Shawn – I’d bet my own money that Jay didn’t handle the business like that. Whenever you watch the tour DVD’s who is doing the business? Dame. Kareem was always a silent partner who worked on the business too. Beanie is running around talking about Jay but in the same breath talking about Dame stealing the money etc etc. How you mad at one and defending the other? You defending the one that stole from you period point blank.
If you buy too much car you have to figure out how to pay for it. If you got two hot singles but pushed no units I’m supposed to give you a million a show? If you are rapping on my record that pushes units you get royalties off my sales. So him being on Jay’s record would make him more money possibly than being on his own.

I’m not saying for certain that Jay did it dirty like that. Remember, I still like his music. I’m saying that from the accusations put forth, that it makes it sound this way. That is why I said you can’t say for certain just yet because what Beanie said wasn’t definite proven statements.
My beef was with how fans and people in general treat Jay and give him passes or don’t talk shit about him when they would do it to other artists in the same position. It has to be equal both ways. Don’t just decide to bypass saying anything because he’s Jay. Get what I’m saying?
Beanie said that Dame was taking money too so I don’t think he was technically defending him all the way through. I also made mention in the last part of my post about why I think Jay probably distanced himself from the negative energy. It is understandable for being in the position he is in. Although if the trial thing is true and Jay didn’t vouch for him and said no to the court, that is still rather shitty. Again, one of those situations that if it were any other artist, people would be all over their case in a split second.
Beanie probably could’ve definitely helped himself somewhat too. I think he is aware of that inside but he’s arguing that what Jay is saying he did for him, wasn’t really HIM doing it for Beanie but the results of circumstance and other things.
Another thing I found funny is that Jay talks about how dissing anymore but he still does, just in a very low key fashion. I know that was random but I just found it funny. He is a very shrewd artist and businessman, no doubt about that.
