Lupe Fiasco – Remember 2 Smile Vignettes (Video)

During his Remember 2 Smile concert in Chicago last night, Lupe played a series of vignettes that Andrew so happened to capture (and explain below).

In this 7 part series, Lupe touches on a wide range of personal topics including Life, Death, Art, Fame, Faith, Politics, his home town of Chicago, and finally his upcoming album, We Are Lasers. Now, during our interview, I was advised not to ask anything about Lasers, because he was going to touch on it during his show. He did, and you can find out a few details, and acronyms from watching the clip. It’s still a mystery, but don’t say you were never invited inside the mind of Wasalu Jaco.

  2. Lupe is on his way to being a legendary Emcee one day. I can’t see he is now, because he still needs to put in more work and time. Food and Liquor was classic, The Cool was classic, and We Are LASERS will be classic.

    I wish I could have been there in Chicago to witness that show.

  4. I was at this concert, and Lupe is an absolute beast. The theater people had technical difficulties and Lupe cursed them out because he wanted to put on a fantastic show, it was ridiculously awesome to see a rapper give a shit about his concert.

  5. Alright, just tell me which video has the exclusive news about Lasers cause I’m not gonna sit thru all these videos just to hear some new info about the album. I’ve listened to #7 and so far I’ve failed to hear info other than last night he has for 4 more albums which has nothing to do about Lasers, more of his career.

  6. This concert was definetly worth every penny. Can’t wait for ghost and fashawn as well as brother Ali, evidence,Toki Wright and bk one. Gotta love Chicago.

Listen to what he has to say and respect him as an artist, you’ll get to hear LASERS soon enough as will everyone else, but just enjoy what he gives you in the meantime..props to lupe I would have paid top dollar to see this concert, unfortunately I’m no where near chicago =’(

    My reply is very childish??? How??? Lupe said on his twitter over the weekend that he was gonna give out exclusive news about Lasers on thursday. Well, last night all he does is say he has 4 more albums which is more on the line of his career and then all these videos. I have failed to hear anything about Lasers that I don’t know. The 7th video has been known for months now. The release date is still set for December 15th with like 5-10 other albums by other people. Shining Down is almost 4 months old officially and with no video. No new single which is what I was expecting or at least a release date for a new single. I respect him as an artist but I don’t like to be thrown around by bullshit. There’s no need to say you’re gonna give out exclusive info on a certain day and you end up not doing it but say some other shit that has nothing to do with what’s anticipated. Your reply is very ignorant cause you jumped to conclusion without seeing where I’m coming from.

Now, if the other videos happen to have snippets of instrumentals Lupe used on Lasers or snippets of songs that are on Lasers then I’ll check the other videos out and take back my disappointment that I have with the dude. If there’s nothing but straight talking then there’s no need for me to check them out and I’ll continue to be disappointed until he provides something useful about Lasers that he didn’t give out.
