This mixtape is amazing, its a fabulous new take on classic hip-hop. Their beats are fresh, their lyrics resonate with everyone, and its a needed fresh face in the industry. This is a very mature take on their older stuff.

These kids have an amount of talent that is unfathomable to a good amount of big name artists out there, let alone college seniors.. I visit this blog frequently and never have I seen so many names such as Alexandria, Adam, Mike, Jenna, etc. commenting on how “awesome” this mixtape is and how Hoodie Allen is the “next big thing”. This is easily an attempt to get their name out, which isn’t bad, but the music is garbage.

And I’m sure all the paid downloads and reviews that their Bagels & Beats EP received on iTunes (along with 42 out of 45 ratings being 5 Stars), were done by Steve himself.

Seriously, though… I found out about these guys through MySpace, and they communicate with their fans constantly, and are always looking for feedback. And the overwhelming majority of that feedback is positive. All people aren’t gonna like it, but to call it “dorky white rapper shit”, you show yourself to be a big asshole. Sorry man, you know that’s the truth.

His freestyles in the studio would destroy most people’s best written material.
100% raw talent, cool guy to work with, and definitely has a long future in the business. Beyond being a dope rapper with great tone, he’s a terrific songwriter. Complete package.

Outside of this mixtape, looking outside hip hop and just looking at the art of music, you ass hats need to stop comparing artist A to artist B ALL THE TIME. Its sickening, of course in hip hop where it was once preached to the masses (by Public Enemy, KRS-One etc) to step out and be yourself, that no new act can drop without catching comparisons (valid or not). 99.9% of the shit that drops on this site comes from an artist in America, probably likes to wear clothes he thinks are dope(some talk about this topic, some dont), chances are that if over 21 that the artist drinks, everyones been through some shit that has changed their life, but that doesnt mean every artist has to compare to someone just bc there are similarities.
