9th Wonder & David Banner – Something Is Wrong (rmx) f. Twista, Naledge & Rhymefest

In tribute to Derrion Albert (and others), a few Chicago emcees jump on a remix to a joint off 9th Wonder & David Banner’s upcoming project, Death of a Popstar. UPDATE: Added the full/explicit version (via FSD).

Due to the recent violent death of Derrion Albert and with fewer than 200 homicides since the beginning of the year killings in Chicago (www.chicagobreakingnews.com), these tragedies have not only attracted worldwide press, but major recording artists David Banner, Rhymefest, Naledge, Skooda Chose, 9th Wonder & Twista, have united to raise awareness of violence among urban youth within Chicago by organizing an Anti-Violence rally. The rally will serve as a creative canvas and backdrop for the video shoot of the release of the song Something’s Wrong.

  3. better than not talking about peace at all…

  4. but still its really stupid for rappers to talk about fuckin niggas up and then after one incident in the news headlines its makes them get peaceful for a lil while and then its back to the basics…its pretty retarded. i dig the song tho, just cant take it seriously.

  11. For those who feel that rappers only say something after someone dies, there are rappers who address these issues, but these are not the songs that most people ignore, never make it on the radio, or people claim are too preachy. What have people like Public Enemy, KRS-One, and Dead Prez been talking about for years? The same shit that yall claim rappers never do, and there are plenty of other rappers who follow suit, but that’s not what most people want to hear. So even though it gets made, it gets ignored.

I’m not upset by all rappers not doing what’s conveyed in this song, but what I am upset about is how Obama can talk about The Kanye/ Taylor Swift situation, and invite mu’fuckas over for bears over a situation where two grown ass men could have solved the situation themselves, but he said absolutely NOTHING in regards to this situation that happened in the same city where he was once Senator. If he can turn his back on his own community, then what the fuck will he do to us?

  12. They killed the Black Panthers. What makes you think they care about the kids in the hood? Peace.
