Stetsasonic – The Original Hip Hop Band (Mixtape)

DJ ReMike & Soul Productions take it back to the old school with a new mixtape dedicated to the original hip hop band. A welcomed mix of music that will spark memories for some, kick knowledge for others; but overall bring good music to the speakers of anyone that listens.

  1. Thanks again for everything Shake!

  2. That Bonus track is banging. played it like 4 times already. Will eventually get to the rest of the album. Just downloaded Strange Journey Vol 1., People Under The Stairs – Carried Away, Emperor Penquin Musik, Mac Miller – Jukebox, Rob Jay – Art Life Prelude, Xaphoon Jones & now this…. so i have a lot of music to go through this weekend.

  3. Thanks Derrik! preciate the feedback you can check out more of my work at http://www.djremike.com

  4. Perfect!! Can’t wait to listen. It’s been a while since I pulled out my old Stetsasonic stuff.

ReMike, you know what else would be dope? A tape (or, probably tapes actually) going through Prince Paul’s entire career.

  5. @ Sean Juan yeah man i might do that…dope idea! that would def take a few tapes lol

  6. Where’s Sally?

  7. Hahaaa.. Look at Prince Paul! Throwback shyt.

  8. that daddy o “brooklyn bounce” cut is a classic for me!! i still have his album (with a whole lot of stet) on cassette.

speaking on cassettes, there’s something about them i love. you had to listen to albums (or at least sides) and not just songs. i got much love for the dopehouse, but people need to step out of their ipods and listen to more than just singles.

  9. A set of Prince Paul tapes would be fabulous….from his early productions with Stetsa as well as his work with Chi-Ali, De La, Resident Alien & Justin Warfield and his newer work with Automator. He’s way under-rated as a producer.

  10. i feel ya bushytop. personally, i stopped judging artists on their singles a long time ago.

  11. How could they not include my personal favorite song “I Ain’t Making It”? SMH…

  12. I feel like ppl don’t understand the impact Prince Paul has had in the game. He invented the skit and took sampling to another level! He’s definitely one of the 10 greatest hip hop producers ever.

  13. I agree Dan. Aside from tourin with De La, what is he workin on nowadays?

  14. ahh the Tommy Boy days. Unexpected, but appreciated. I still surprise my uncle that I know their songs when we spin vinyl. Thanks DJ ReMike for me not feeling I’m getting up their in age and Shake for posting this. Prince Paul is doing or finished an album with Souls of Mischief.
