Ok people, the list is supposed to be based on buzz, sales, airplay, flow, creativity, and number of hits on sites like YouTube and google, and the intangible “it” factor such as being able to start a convo by just mentioninng their name. And all over the last 12 months. With that said, this list is bunk. Most artists should not have been as high on the list ( with the exception of jay and drake). And most shouldve been gone completely. Weezy got weak and too commercial. It’s just not just quanity, it’s quality too. And he didn’t drop an album. No way he deserved #2! And Ross, gucci, jeezy, and 50 should have all been lower or off the list completely to make room for guys like cudi (creative as hell, tons of radio and web play, and sold over 100k in first week). T.I. (double platinum, great album, all over radio, tv, and the news), and easily the most ridiulous name to not make top 3 let alone the list at all is em. I don’t care what your personal views are of eminem but he undoubted was one of the most talked about rappers of the year, period. Highest selling and fastest platinum selling albums of the year. Many people didn’t get the concept but it was just that, a concept album. And his ability to tell a story is brilliant. Sorry drake but em is the one to paint a vivid picture no HD. 2 top 10 tracks (crack a bottle went #1) and 4 top 40 tracks, huge controversy around beef with Mariah and diss track (the warning), 2 MTV nods, 1 MTV award, and the forever remix with drake, ye, and weezy.. Well he pretty much rapes everyone on that track. His flow is so raw it’s insane. And to everyone that says it doesn’t fit the song, yes it does. Drake is starting off and loving it, ye is fed up, weezy is riding high on his success, and em is getting back into and destroys everyone in his path.
