Goapele – Closer Live (Video)

Goapele’s “Closer” is one of the best soul songs of our generation and she performs it beautifully here. She also talks about it and shares her thoughts on how Drake remixed it then we get a part of his verse. Filmed at her show in LA at the Congo Room on 9/25/09. – Quddus

This is one of my favorite songs of all time.

  1. Goapele is one of the sexiest and most talented women alive.

    I love to original and the Drake remake is a classic too. (I know Drake haters will deny it…but that would just be hatred, cuz you can’t deny the song in deep and very ill).

    Good post! It would be great if they could both perform it together live one day.

  4. Jojo Pellegrino rhymed over this years ago. And, imo, he had a better verse than Drake on it.

  10. Drake didn’t TAKE anyone off. He just had someone re-sing. It was a REMAKE. C’mon now.

    And whoever said Jojo had a better verse than Drake’s version should Heath Ledger themselves immediately.

    And I guess I should kill myself. ‘Cause I still think Jojo’s is better than Drake’s.
