Cudi, in my opinion, is the type of artist that doesn’t need a bunch of features on this songs, especially not a bunch of rappers. I’m glad he didn’t put the Clipse and Snoop Dogg collab on the main album. I’m kind of a firm believer in debut albums from artists actually DEBUTING the artist. 85% of the track should be solo, with the exception of a featured singer on the hook. You don’t want your tracklist looking a compilation instead of a solo album. *See Mase’s “Double Up”.

I cosign that. And if people are saying Kid Cudi is not really hip hop, they must have forgot that hip hop is innovation and originality and creativity. That’s something Kid Cudi brings. It not always about rapping. Hip Hop is an art form. It doesn’t hurt that he can rap as well though.

Someone said this already, but I am sick of rappers using so many features on a debut album. Guys like Drake and Cudi, since they can sing too (even though drake does it better) and since they write hooks, have no reason for features

^The song already was on his debut mixtape from mid-2008, it’s not the title track, ‘Man on the Moon’ is just Cudi’s alias so he named his album after it too.
I came to bitch about the lack of “Man on the Moon”, but I had no idea it was a reworking of something else (Nosaj Thing “Aquarium”). Still, he probably could have got the sample rights and put it on there if he really wanted to.
