  7. I can kinda see where No I.D. is coming from. I think Drake has a number of reference’s to the streets and things that wouldn’t necessarily be catered to women. Maybe he could do more of that, but then he gets into that realm of possibly being criticized for being fake. We know Drake ain’t no thug so trying to break into that demographic on some acting hard shit would be kinda lame.

I think he’s already established the image he’s gotta role with now. Any dramatic changes would hurt him. As long as he don’t smack a bitch, the lady demographic should stay.

  8. I think he wants drake to make more tracks like uptown, say whats real, ignant shit and friends with money not some jadakiss shoot a nigga up punchline shit

  9. i agree with no. id. drake shuld try rappin a lil more than singin so much. hop on more serious tracks and just spit your hear out im not sayin e cant do the lady tracks but he needs to learn to balance it quik cuz i can see some arrows comin his way sooner than later where he will be challenged and people may say he’s not capable

  10. Thing is, So Far Gone is really the first mixtape he’s sang on. And I remember a lot of people saying he should do more singing to give him more variety once they heard that brief track on Comeback Season. So Far Gone was probably his most experimental project to date and it came out really well. I don’t see why he should stray from keeping things varied with his singing and rapping.

  11. @ Spike No shots to Lose that’s typical Loso: single for da ladies Street Music for da album and him and his ppl know that we kno wat to expect on da album…

as far as drake image goes I mean right now its summer and the ppl pretty much chose the single but Im sure duke will give us some heat before he gets tha hoes only tag I mean dudes was puttin they gals up on Drake anyway tryna I know I smashed to dat joint he had w/ lloyd and my gal asked me wat song dat was afterwards

  12. Yeah Ja Rule shoulda listened to dis!

  13. It doesn’t get much more real than that. His comments fit a good majority of the cats that are trying to cross over in the game now. So, if the shoe fits…walk it off. Good interview. PEace

  14. Also, take heed to what No.ID is saying.

  19. drake alright but j cole is a beast big sean alright to and hes the youngest i didnt know kanye signed him when he was 17

  20. CONFIRMATIO!!!
We all know the respect that Kanye has for NO I.D. so Drake’s “Best I Ever Had” video was clearly an attempt to attract or keep the dwindling ‘sausage fest’ fan base.
These lyrics show that dude is aware of the pitfalls.

“When my album drop bitches will buy it for the pictures
Niggas will buy it too and claim dey got it for they sista”

  21. No I.D. is dead on…Even Drake’s first vid was strategic in keeping the MALE (majority) hip hop fan base in tune to his shit. Drake will fade along side lil Wayne…That ladies man move is hella short term in Hip Hop…Drake’s first album will be his toughest project. He’s too uncatergorized right now and people are slowly putting him in the catergory of R&B first, Rapper second. Bad move if your base is Hip Hop, especially since he’s jaw-dropping lyrical as a Cee-Lo or Andre 3000.

  22. especially since he’s *NOT* jaw-dropping lyrical as a Cee-Lo or Andre 3000.

  23. Dirty needles thanks ALOT for clearing that up lol…but yea look at at all you groupies defending and making excuses for Drake like he’s your cousin, niggas got man-crushes.

  24. lmao at the last two posts.
