Jay-Z – DJ Semtex Interview (Video)

Jay-z was in the UK to finish the Blueprint 3. That’s right he’s recorded several tracks out here, and is working with the UK’s very own Chase and Status. I caught up with him to talk about the forth-coming album, Blueprint 3. Jay wasn’t allowing any cameras in the building, so this is a slide show rather than video footage.

  6. “Empire State of Mind”… Hmmm… Dude really has some nuts if he puts NaS on that.

  7. Now This was a grand interview. The other day some radio station interviewed the game and the focus of the interview was mainly Beef: Jay Z: Jay Z: Beef. He threw In “A Couple Of Movie” tie-ins etc etc. With Jay Z: He gave distinctive insight on the blueprint trilogy, the focus of Blueprints 1,2,3. His Status as a live performer and how important it is to instill new elements to enhance the performance. He spoke on upcoming artists that have a passion for this culture He bigged up Wale (Who Jay Co-signed) but also shined Kudos on Kid Cudi and Drake (Well Game So Much for Jay Z not letting younger Cats make money). I could say more but in closing what game did in his interview was pull shots, make threats & tell the world how un-insipring Jay’s Music is, when in fact Jay at this moment is at his artistic peak (even though he wont say that). D.O.A. a track memorized by everyone two days after it was premiered on the summer jam stage (I dont think game has ever made a song so impactful that it was memorized that quickly) I.e. P.S.A. Izzo, What More Can I say & More. In Closing Game (and this is in no disrespect for I think your a talented emcee) But to boldy confess your gonna smash Jay – Z knowing what you have created thus wasnt even close to sracthing the surface. I say create 400 Bars and Running or basically a continuation that mediocre diss record. Game just make dope records with a purpose and put battling on the shelf or that is where you might find yourself.

  8. i got a feeling this might be wack

D.O.A and Run THis Down Jay were both some weak ass efforts from Hov

but American Gangster was a 4.5 mic album tho

  9. the chase & status d.o.a remix was dope. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XEzzVBtlmHE) i expect any other production from them will follow suit.

  10. He said “NAHRIGHT”, not 2dopeboyz

    hahahahahaha

This might be a reason why:

“Jay-z was in the UK to finish the Blueprint 3″ no hes recording here and there, like las nght in london… get ur shit together… im only tryin to help lol.

  11. great stuff, cant believe mickey aint on roc nation tho :(

    reupspot

  12. We need more people like Jay-Z, Pharrell, Kanye.. all talkin about success. Good shit.

  13. DJ Daz-One, I feel what you said and later today I will post your quote (rather than a comment) on my blogspot later today.
    RespectedEverywhere.Blogspot.com

  14. This was a good interview. I am real bum that Mickey Factz is not Roc Nation man that sucks. Mickey is dope. Man i really wanted to hear Andre 3000 on BP3. Nas on Empire State of Mind? Man who cares 2Dope >>> Nah Right all day. The dudes that comment on there have no sense of knowledge. I been down with 2Dope since March of 2008 and have never left. BP3 will be a letdown

  15. I can’t fathom how people can hear two SINGLES off this album and come to the conclusion that it’ll be a let down.

People want things to fail so much these days.

  16. ^but…do you remember the days when radio played good music and that was the Only way to conclude whether an album was worthy or not of purchase?

  17. hov rockin play cloths…dope
