Marsha Ambrosius, formerly one half of British soul duo Floetry, came to London for a one-off solo show at UK Soul Jam, Jazz Cafe on July 5th 2009. SoulCulture recorded her performing crowd favorites Say Yes (shown above) from Floetry’s debut album and Take Care (after the jump) from her mixtape, Your Truly….
But back to the concert. Opening with Co-Star, Ambrosius launches into a combination of old and new material, including Say Yes and a thumping new song produced by Dr Dre. Incorporating the lyrics to Thriller as verses in the Floetry classic Getting Late, she eases into a tribute to Michael Jackson with a rendition of Butterflies on the piano, followed by a snippet of Cry – an unfinished song she has written for him

And if you missed it last weekend… I put up a new joint (Heartbreaker) off the upcoming re-release of Yours Truly in my latest Sunday Soothing Session.

Marsha Rocks!
This is dope. I love her style.
Greatly appreciated, I wish the audio for “Take Care Live” wasn’t distorted but it’s cool…
