Garden State Rebels – We On Our Way

If you’re like Shake, you have no clue who the Garden State Rebels are. Luckily Shine provided some background… GSR is a collective group of emerging hip hop talent from New Jersey. Comprised of the homie Neako, 151 Feva Gang’s Killa Kherk Cobain & Denaro, Chad B, Bless McFly, Cob, Young Jerz and Kertasy. Now considering I’ve never been to Jersey myself, I couldn’t give you any promise that any of these artists have a buzz, etc… maybe some resident dopeboyz/girlz could shine some light?

  1. WELL IM FROM SOUTH JERSEY AND I HAVENT HEARD OF THEM BUT MAYBE PEOPLE FROM UP NORTH HAVE BUT STILL IT NEVER HURTS TO LISTEN TO SUMTHIN NEW

  2. im from jersey, never heard of them lol but they sound like southern rappers not really feelin it

  3. i no neako, not really into the other dudes they sound aouttheern, neako whas a buzz out there, its weak tho

  4. I’m from north jersey, and the only one i’ve ever heard of is Neako. the track is cool, but i agree it sounds like some down south rap. doesnt sound like his mixtape, which was good, but the production is still good on this track.

  5. I’m from Jersey City….these dudes are from the whole Essex county party scene….they probly got a buzz n Newark….the track sounds southern….I wish dudes were more like Wale and emphasized their regional sound…..Jersey cats listen to a lot of club n house they should utilize that

  6. i heard of all ov dem nd dey all wack especially NEAKO nd KERTASY but chad b is so cute :)

  7. Bless mcfly nd chad both have da dopest line on dat track…but Neako a no body nd Kertasy need some originality but besides dat da track is dope

  8. Jersey? Sound like some ATL/South shit…I swear niggaz is scared to be original now and days…Damn shame niggaz feel like they gotta do what’s popular to be heard…

    *presses play on Grown Simba*

  9. @ the guy from J.C., ur wrong. I’m from Newark & they have no buzz around here. I’ve only heard of 151 Feva Gang but I’m not a fan. This group is embarrassing to the state, sound like a buncha bama niggaz, they even got some fool using auto-tune.

  10. How do you even know who is who? They’re all doing their best Lil Wayne impression. Niggas don’t know who they are anymore. This is the new generation that we’re suppose to embrace? And heads wonder why the OGs aint feeling this shit…SMH

  11. YEA AFTER TAKING A LISTEN TO IT IM NOT REALLY FEELIN IT EITHER ITS LIKE THEY TRIED A LIL TOO HARD AND GOT NOWHERE WIT IT BUT THATS JUST ME

  12. EgoDavis said JerZ rappers should utilize club/house to regionalize our hiphop but I disagree. Like I said, I’m from Newark where Brick City Club music obviously originated so yea, I know the shit’s popular around here, but at the same time u gotta know that shit is STRICTLY for the clubs and parties. Brick City club should NOT be representative of what our Newark/JerZ hiphop is like. JerZ hiphop is always gonna be tied to New York’s hiphop due to the city’s huge influence on north JerZ, I mean it’s a 10 min. drive to the Tunnel where I’m from. Just listen to all the other big name rappers from JerZ and tell me the difference between their music and New York rap, besides all the JerZ shout outs and references that only we would know about.

  13. yea, no shots at these cats, but im from jersey and i never heard of em. hope they rep for NJ tho

  14. yo Shake,
if you know nothing about these guys…why are they being posted up here?

i’m not feeling em. there’s 8 of em but there only needs to be like 2. cause the rest are really garbage.

  16. Yeah, I Rep Jersey to the fullest. Never heard’em though.
Then again, Burlington County is 6/8 Rich & Trife White Folk, so I have to be the bridge.

Dunno, I might listen. I don’t judge books by covers, but how they are presenting themselves makes me not want to listen.

  17. “feelin real jersey right now” lol what does that mean?

  18. I’m from Bergen County. I’ve seen Neako on all the blogs but havent heard of any of these other cats. The track is weak. I agree with sdotmillz about his mixtape the green side. it was dope and i think he was on hot97 too, but i wouldn’t expect something like this from him as an artist. I think he’s better than that. the other dudes sound like straight clowns though. Jersey artists shouldn’t conform to whats good in the industry. just trying to sound like wayne and drake to get a hit. hope the kid Neako pulls away from these guys and stays in his lane cause he has talent. im tired of hearin bs on the radio n cats just tryin to make hits. not feelin this joint at all.

  19. “yo Shake,
if you know nothing about these guys…why are they being posted up here?”

why not? i put it out there to get a feel of what people think of the crew. then i can base future posting off that, etc. plus… neako’s fam… so i support any and everything he does.

  20. i’m only familiar wit neako and bless only because of his former manager works wit my homie out here in jerz. i co sign those 2. the others… idk

  21. I’m at Rutgers right now…i’ve heard some stuff from neako being passed around and he is marginal. Never heard of the others. If I want NJ hip-hop I’ll stick to joe budden and redman.

  22. this is so wack it’s ridiculous you’re giving it any burn on the site.

  24. so since im not even from jersey i had to do my research. i’ve come across neako on the blogs, including this one, and i actually liked dude’s work for real. i gota say that other artist on the record is all wack except for that kid chad b and bless mcfly. but i also had a chance to check out neako’s production since ya’ll say he produced this track. i’ll give it to em that he’s versatile, but i’m really not a fan of this track. as a dj, i can say that this would probably bang in the clubs but its wack that jersey dudes is rapping over some down south shit…n im not a fan of the autotune. big ups to neako though, every artist has a slip up and this might just be his. his other work is better. from what i saw of that 151 shit, they’re some real gimmick clowns. like i sad, i did my research.

  25. lol, well I’m from Jersey. Killa Kherk and Neako aight but the rest of them niggas trash.

  26. im from newark! killa kherk and neako have week buzzes my town dont wanna be represented by them

  27. im from newark! killa kherk and neako have weak buzzes my town dont wanna be represented by them

  30. U always gonna have Haters!!!!!………..i agree i dont like da track either………….but Killa Kherk does do his thing…..i’ve heard his shit personally….i cant really cant speak 4 da rest of em’ but ive heard bout em’……I just thing they came up across a bad track……shit happens……..

  31. NEW LINK http://sharebee.com/9e9c1ec7

  32. ok…. where do i begin? im from jerz and i can not believe these dudes from jerz. i love the fact that they are spittin over a southern beat and someone says “this is real jersey”.

  33. BUDDENS RANSOM N ALbEE AL……..NEWARK is a bunch of lil Waynes REDMAN TOO old they last hope is Arsenal…..JC ALL DAY

  34. hey shake …. i’m going to keep it 100% with you on this one … im from Jersey i’ve lived in JC and NeWWARK so ill give you as accurate a run-down as i can on these artists here.
firstly, all of these are new guys, some i’ve heard of and actually have “BUZZ”, others i have no idea. im only going to talk about the ones i know.

NEAKOs known online. ive seen his work on the blogsites and thats about it. is he buzzowrthy? i would say yes, his beats are great (better than his rapping) and he has real potential as an artist with creativity. downside to neako ….. nobody knows of him outside of blogsites.

BLESS MCFLY had the best verse hands down (my opinion) 2nd best would be KILLA KHERK COBAIN (i find his style unique). back to BLESS ….. he’s a young newark rapper and thats all i know about him. downside to bless.. his music is totally unknown … “Buzzworthy”? that’s up to the public.

KILLA KHERK has the whole 151 FevA GANG movement and out of everybody on the track he’s the one i would label “BUZZWORTHY”. Why? His whole movement and style has been buzzing all over the jersey party scene for a while now as well as the blogsites showing him and his crew love. I was living in jersey city and hearing about 151 feva gang and killa kherk … when i came back to newark a year later i saw that shake my dread song on TV … so these are probably the guys to check for. Lyrically and creatively they are dope. and they make CLUB MUSIC. DOWNSIDE they have a “southern” sound sometimes so people who aren’t into that won’t buy into their style.

YOUNG JERZ and KeRTASY ive seen on worldstar a long time ago and thats all i know of those two. “BUZZWORTHY”? up to the public.

i agree with Miraha’03 … these guys are capable of making better tracks than this one… i personally liked this track when i first heard it on youtube. Overall lets get jersey music back in the light… hope this helps @ SHAKE
