And I didn’t make my original statement as a slight to Nipsey at all. I wish him success, but personally I just don’t feel the need to listen to his music based on the interviews I’ve seen and imagery that’s been presented to me. I’m not one to base my opinion of an artist off of their look, but the dude looks JUST LIKE Snoop, and if I want that in an artist I’d prefer to stick with the original. If I want to listen to some straight west coast gangsta shit, I’ll throw in an old Snoop Dogg, Mack 10, Dogg Pound, Ice Cube, or MC Eiht album. There are only so many different angles you can take to being a gang banger, and I think we’ve pretty much heard them all at this point.

I’ve never been too inclined to listen to him either. To this day I don’t think I’ve heard even one of his songs. He seems like a generic gangsta rapper to me. If I ever feel like listening to that type of music I’d prefer Jay Rock.

Steve, I can honestly say I thought the same thing, until I heard his music by accident and was really impressed. first off dude does not rap at all like snoop secondly he makes it a point to distance himself musically from him. As far as image, you are what u are. dude is like ethiopian and he got braids, a lot of cats from cali in the gangbang culture rock the same do. nipsey is a dope emcee and i can vouch..

I can honestly that after all of the Nipsey stuff that has been posted on here, he’s the one artist that I’ve never once been compelled to try and listen to. The all too obvious play on Snoops image just doesn’t work for me.
