I was at this show, right next to the guy shooting this video.
I was VERY disappointed when I found out Wale wouldn’t be performing with his band. On top of that, it’s kinda wack to expect people to wait 2.5 hours for you to go on, knowing that they packed the place (a small-ass bar) within an hour of the doors opening just to see you… And then he only did a 30 minute set but, then again, what should I have expected for an $11.50 ticket?
Wale still managed to put it down with what he was given/brought with him, but I can’t honestly declare “I’ve seen Wale perform live!” until I hit a show where he’s got the full UCB band behind him. (on a side note: Wale should hire that kid who spun/scratched right before his set to be his new live DJ — dude was SICK!)
I think he needs to step of the bar of excitement for his music.
I’m hoping his next single will clobber this one.
I remember back when I first heard Nike Boots, I used to play the song over and over. It was big, ya know. It made me excited about homey’s music. I want that to come back.
i wasn’t at the show but one of my boys was and gave me the same review as ^ hetal ^. now i’ve excused cats for their performance based on the cost of the ticket too, but its getting outta pocket in that respect. at least give me a disclaimer saying “its a cheap ticket so don’t complain when [artist] only does a 30 min set.”
that shit can ruin an otherwise solid show. once went to see common sense touring on “one day” and it was a $6 dollar ticket. only problem is the doors opened at 5pm for all ages show and lonnie didn’t go on until like midnight. and while he went in for like an hour, it still left a bad taste in my mouth.
dude doesn’t stop, wale must be one of the most posted artists on this site (no complaints)
i mess wit wale man…dope artist
wale’s aight. he’s not really raising the bar for me though.
it made me really happy when he said in some interview that chillin is nothing like the rest of attention deficit……..
