He might not be the best artist but I really do believe he is better then 90% of rappers that are out now. Lyrically, he would crush them. You know why nobody has sent a bar his way? because they will get embarassed and ruin their own careers. I respect him for his confidence and realness.

Someone is gonna say that Joey was talking greasy…they just need to stop talking and send a shot (verbally not physically) Joey’s way…Joey is killin it this year with an album out (Padded Room), the Slaughterhouse album coming out, an EP (Escape Route), and another album (The Great Escape)…I haven’t seen this kind of work ethic without losing the quality of the music in like…forever. All he needs is a nice battle now…

I agreed with a lot of what Joe Budden said but somehow in the mist of being humble he manages to still be arrogant. The interview was like one big backhand compliment. And as intelligent as he is he would realize the Vibe list was the “Best Rapper” list.
To decided you have to go based on career not out rapping people right now in 2009. He’s lucky he’s on the list based on having one album (minus the 2 digital releases). He spassed on Method Man pointlessly and there were other people on that list he mentioned that without question can’t rap good. But he somehow managed to choose a rapper that deserves to be on the list vs. rappers that weren’t good.
He didn’t say Too Short or any other average rappers (yet had legendary careers) that he was better than but Method Man was your pick??? Arrogance.
