Big Boi: Fake Kicks?

Now, here’s my thing about this “fake” ideal: I’m not one who’s willing to drop $300+ dollars on a pair of shoes (that money can cover the cost of my Internets bill for at least six months), because I just don’t see the point of doing so. In that sense, I don’t mind fake kicks at all, because at the end of the day they’re just footwear to me, nothing more, nothing less. However, I’m also not one to try to rip on somebody because they got real or fake kicks, because that’s just some shit that only junior high schoolers should do.

On the flip side, if I ever decide to rock fake kicks I’m not gonna front like them shits are real, and chances are I’d tell you to your face that they are not (and dare you to do something about it at that). So if Big Boi’s kicks actually are fakes he kinda looks doofy for trying to pass them off as real, I’ll admit. Whether or not his shoes are or aren’t real remain to be seen, but in the end who really gives a shit about what another person does with their money in the first place? Like, seriously? Props to Nice Kicks.

  1. “the second you come out of em, they prolly gon fall apart”
    -Wale

  2. nike never released that color scheme. them shits are variants customized. those are the type of kicks you would have to get to match the jersey & hat craze that was popping. your literally like 7-8 years late with this shit. trying to out these corny rappers. you fail

  3. Agree.

and to add, what the fuck is a fake shoe? fake in the authentic-ness of it being a Nike, sure. But, as far as I’m concerned, the dude bought a dope shoe, looks exactly the same as a Nike with nice colors, and it cost less. That’s being smart.

  4. “Fuck ya little sneakers, I got property in Beaverton.”
    -Wale

As long as we’re on the Wale and sneakers tip, right?

  5. I agree with Meka.

  6. but what’s the point of the post?

  7. Damn =/

  8. I don’t understand why people drop $150-$300 on ONE pair of shoes myself other than a childish swag comment. And people buy a pair of shoes EVERY FUCKING WEEK. That’s ridiculous.

  9. i sold em to him. dont worry bout it they real.

  10. Not that I care whether there fake but Sneakerpimps wasn’t the place to try and pull that off if they were.

  11. You frontin ass niggas know damn well you aint finna wear no fake kicks.

  12. LET’S TRY THIS AGAIN…

PLEASE UPLOAD CANDY FOR KLEPTOS ON MEDIAFIRE!!!!
WUT THE HECK IS GOIN ON??? ALL I WANT RITE NOW MORE THAN ANYTHING, MUSICALLY, IS THAT HOLLY WEERD MIXTAPE!

  13. I hate fakes, but I can at least tolerate them on lower income people because I know they can’t afford much, but when I see a dude like Big Boi, who owns quite a lot of shoes, and if I remember was getting talked about as to Nike giving him his own AF1, it kills me. The dude has more than enough money to afford a real pair. I think they may be custon CDP 8′s though from the looks of the sole

  14. @LJ
That mixtape is wack brother, youre not missing much.

  15. WTF, is this Queer eye for the straight guy!?!?

If someone got the money to spent on a pair or shoes…spend it!

If someone don’t have the money…buy fake ones!

Bottom line is no one should be checking Big Boi’s shoes to that degree! LOL

  16. ^you go to sneakerpimps with fake shoes, expect to be kicked out immediately!!

  17. He was fearing fake VIII’s in the booklet of Speakerboxxx/The Love Below

  18. Thanks for this post Meka. Footwear is footwear. It’s all made in China. The “authentic” ones just go through rigorous inspection so you wont have glue and shit hanging out. I have no problem rockin fake Yeezys for $50. You go pay $300+ for a pair of shitty shoes…

  19. man fake kicks is a BIG NO. People stay going to them warehouses in NY coppin fake Jordan’s, the people who owned them warehouses were arrested and sneakers seized for being fake. That shit is wahck to me walking around is some fake Jordan’s kuz people like myself look so hard to find real ones that are exclusive. and u can tell when sneakers are fake because even tho there may be similarities, there might be a difference where a Jordan or nike logo is, stitching and shit like that. yeah I’ma true sneaker head and never had a fake in my life. If that store aint legit or they letting Jordans go for 80 it’s most likely a fake.

  20. 4 all ya’ll sayin its not a big deal, i respect your opinion but to me fakes especially fake jordans, are like buying the blueprint album and instead of jay-z, sacario is spitting all the verses.it’s the principle of it. +if you got the cash, which he does spendit on the real thing and get them customized if you HAVE to get that colorway. and epic fail at him for trying to rock those at sneakerpimps

  21. Wow…I do not believe the amount of people that actually care if shoes are fake.

I’m guessing most of you still live at home…cause believe me…when u got kids to feed…someone elses clothes REALLY aint on your mind that much at all…infact never.

  22. WE are talking about kicks not our families and shyt^^.

sneaker culture is a way of life and fake kicks are a NO-NO. It’s like cats who rock fake louis V and Gucci they look corny as hell.

  23. Whats the point then of being into the shoe game if you buy fakes? If you ain’t got the dough, buy some converse or some shit. Quit ruining the market for people that want legit kicks.Things cost money. If you want a nice pair of shoes, you pay the price for them. If you want a nice house, you pay the price for it.

  24. @Redd

Sneaker culture?? for me the music comes first.

    it’s simple.

I used family as an example…my point was dudes checkin another dudes shoes for more than 3 seconds is just…well….not gay…..just….stupid as fuck.

  25. @speed

Property passes down through generations…kicks get scuffed and eventually ruined.

    Not a great comparison

  26. Fuck that. FAKE shoes are wack. CHEAP shoes are fine but if you wanna buy an inexpensive pair of shoes, don’t buy knock offs, buy cheap, nice kicks. There’s a difference between buying something that’s inexpensive and nice in it’s own right, and buying something that’s inexpensive that’s only nice because it is a blatant ripoff of the expensive shit.

That said, I’m not sure what to make of this Big Boi thing

  27. whether u like it or not, it’s a legitimate culture that people have created so you have to respect that

and like someone said him being a big name rocking fakes is just a bad look

  28. If I’m not mistaking, weren’t you trying to bash Ross for rocking some fake LV glasses..??? How are you gonna justify kicks..saying they don’t matter then get on someone because they wear fake shades. Anyway..those shoes are ugly as f*ck…no matter what you wear with them.

  29. Stupid post man. Things on this site have the tendency to get a litte femme I have noticed.

  30. I agree with Meka about that shoe shit. I’ll rock some fake kicks, as long as they look decent. The shoes Big Boi got caught in…ew.

  31. ugly 8′s
    never wear fakes
    wats the point then?

  32. I for one don`t rock the fakes because they hurt my feet. Big Boi gets the prototypes from Nike because he is a size 9(the size that nike conciders a perfect size to make a prototype shoe). Anyways, these shoe companies should be ashamed of themselves. Three hundred for a shoe is rediculous. This is why the fakes are out here. Kids in the inner cities want to rock the so-called exclusives just as well as your Wale`s or your Fat Joes. So I don`t blame him for the fake joints on his feet(if they are fake).

  33. Fuck outta here, fake kicks are fake kicks…no respect to Big Boi for that shit dude…but aint this shit old??? Flightclubny.com all day

  34. Why’s Meka always talking about daring somebody to do something about something or another and/or how nobody’s going to wanna say some shit to his face when nobody’s saying shit to begin with? Always forewarning with some tough talk and shit. Insecure much?

  35. “those jordan 20′s?(NOPE!), that patent leather wasn’t well put together money.”
    -Wale

  36. Big boi can pretty much do whatever he wants in the music industry considering he won a major award for his Atlanta rooted rap group during the east cost west coast feud at its peak.

  37. how do people wear fake kicks and pass em off as real….what u walk areound and say “these is real jordan 5′s, fam”. what if u don’t say nothin about ur shoes….cats is stoopid. If u collect em…get real ones…if u gon wear them day to day do u on that but them fake joints go for 50-60 a pop….its a recession out here

  38. im a shoe collector and if u don’t understand it thats cool everybody has their something. but i dont think boi’s shoes r fake i mean jordan does make player exclusive kicks who to say he doesn’t have the hook up

  39. I mean look at them, they dont even look legit…look like he just finished ballin in those! Hey my kicks cost most than a rich ass legends!

  40. THEM SHITS IS OKCIES!!!!!! LMAO!

  41. besides, they a little worn to be on the red carpet…

  42. “and if that jumpman look a bit chubby, return that jumpman brotha.” – WALE

still dont give a fuck if his shoes are fake or not, but it is funny to see people stunting like theyre real from time to time.

  43. THEYRE NOT FAKE PEOPLE.
    THEY CAN BE CUSTOMED.
CUSTOMED SHOES DO, HOWEVER, COST LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY, ESPECIALLY ON JORDANS.

…BUT SEEING AS THOUGH MONEY ISNT A PROBLEM FOR HIM, HE GOT THEM CUSTOMED.

Now stop saying his kicks are fake…
