  1. hey shake is it any good?

  2. cheers
    tracklist isnt there?

  3. i’ve heard of dood before but i’ve never heard from dood before, if that makes sense. ill give this a shot (ll)

  4. if youve never heard of cage before you shouldnt make this your first listen. check out smut puddlers/leak bros.

  5. ^^i agree on not letting this be your first experience with cage. especially if you’re one of those “anti-rock” folks.

pick up movies for the blind or hellz winter.

  6. Cool cover art though, even though I’ve never given him a listen either.

  7. hopefully his new stuff is on the level of Movies for the Blind and Hell’s Winter.

  8. sooo wait is Movies for the Blind and Hells Winter free albums…or purchase?

  9. I dont know this dude, but I will download it for the hell of it. Thats how I discover Blu and Tonya Morgan LOL Thanks!

  10. TERRIBLE. CAGE… i’m fucking disappointed in you. blah. *puts on old CAGE shit*… listening to DUST vs. ECSTACY… lol (youtube that shit)

  11. sad day. i think everyone wants a movies 2 but we’ll never get it… we’re just going have to settle for this shit

  12. not feelin it
“bought a cage tape and dubbed over it”

i would do that with this

  13. This looks really good. I loved the vid. The return of the white boys in rap!
    http://pea.to/kc

  14. Rap People that dont listen to anything else and call rock bad/shitty without hardly listening to it or giving it a chance are just as close minded and annoying rock people who say all rap is shitty and sounds the same.
“My thoughts convertible, yea, thats what Im on/ keep livin in ya box, what is that, a Scion?” – P.O.S.

    yea, get with it lames

  15. I’d second the Hell’s Winter recommendation as a first listen for anybody who hasn’t messed with Cage before. I actually didn’t even really fuck with Cage before that record, but between that and the Leak Bros. joint with him and Tame-One I became a fan.

That said, I’ve been pretty apprehensive about the new direction he’s been taking, but I will say he’s got a better sensibility about meshing Hip Hop with rock/indie pop than a lot of other rappers who try it do. I can understand his progression, considering how much his actual personal life is tied to the records, I’m just hoping we eventually get a marriage of the two styles rather than him completely leaving the dope parts of the past behind.

  16. Hey, I know I’m not closed minded. I also know that this sh_t is straight butt. What’s next, Jedi Mind Tricks starts using Auto-tune? Whateva Cage, good luck in your quest to land dates with 16 year old girls. How do you go from some of the illest underground imagery I’ve ever heard to electronic whiney metal songs about girls? Which do you think he’ll drop first, his own brand of eyeshadow or his own brand of Ed Hardy Sneakers and tight Hipster Jeans? At least I’ll be able to get Cage merchandise at Hot Topic instead of underground online hip-hop stores. Wait, I wouldn’t wear anything associated with this. Truer words were never spoken: You played yourself.

  17. ^lol @ saying “some of the illest underground imagery I’ve ever heard” and not fully appreciating “I Never Knew You”, I mean, you do get the story, right? Surely you’re not that dim-witted…? It’s one of the most disturbed songs of ’09.

Anyway, I’m gonna give this a couple more listens to see if it grows on me, right now I’m only feelin are I Never Knew You & Tongue In The Sharks Mouth…the rest is meh.

  18. old school cage fan here n this is trash straight up

  19. link doesn’t work anymore.

  20. Can the emo-kids keep their music please?

  21. I’m a fucking dumbass for thinking this is even close to emo

  22. ^^^ one of Cage Francis’ butthurt fanboys trying to be funny

  23. the illest 4 letter word in the world is……..no longer cage

  24. this is a good ep and shout out to the dude who cited POS

  25. damn I love sucking dick

  26. Not sure why yall arent feelin this. I think its pretty dope. Taking things in a new direction, which I can appriciate. Maybe you guys arent diverse enough, or maybe I’m the only white 1 whos commenting… lol

  27. i diggin’ this, the title track is my favorite
dope lyrics on the whole ep though..

  28. gonna check dude out to find some earlier projects..

  29. the title track is by far the worst song on the ep… all the other songs are okay but they’re know “Too Much”, “Teenage Death”, “The Death Of Chris Palko”, “10 Leak Commandments” and other songs made before he met F.Sean Martin

  30. My opinion on hip-hop is irrelevant since I’m on a blog 24/7 and have no experience in real life.

  31. You guys really need to get off Cage’s dick. I’m sorry, but I’ve been a HUGE fan of his since Movies For The Blind. I just cannot co-sign this shit. I dug Nothing Left To Say (the track that El-P produced), but other than that, all this newer shit is trash. And don’t even try to call me closed minded. I listen to everything from hip hop to country to metal. And, also, don’t compare this to POS. POS mixes the rock shit, but he has good lyrics. This EP has the worst lyrics Cage has ever written. I understand trying to be a little more introspective instead of writing about drugs and girls, but his flow isn’t even as good as it used to be. And then he uses the guise of “growing up”. Fuck off, man…in reality, you started hanging hard with Daryl Palumbo and though you could latch onto this whole emo-rap thing. I just really hope the rest of The Weathermen don’t jump on this garbage bandwagon. I still really like El-P, Aesop and Tame-One. Yak…well, he just does whatever Cage does. So he’ll be putting out a shit record next, too. I hear he’s already working with F. Sean. Ugh…it’s so disappointing when your favorite MCs fall off.

  32. “I think alot of things I said on Hell’s Winter are was, I was, desperately wanting to believe them…to change my life, and then uh, you know, Depart From Me is just, kinda like, saying like leave me already, you know, and then also the fans too-if you don’t like this, depart from me.” – Cage

  33. ^^real fan up here, even quotes cages stuttering..

the ep is pretty good aside from the fact that its edited, don’t understand who he had to clean it up for if it was FREE

also, track 3 is 4 and track 4 is 3 how you mistitle your own songs is beyond me, but, it was free, cage is doin his thing wether people like it or not, as long as he sells a couple albums to buy more pot, I doubt dude cares

  34. i’m a cat that listens to free avante garde jazz and psychedelic and progressive rock and other crazy musical weirdomness (lmfao) and i still say this shit is fuckin G-A-R-B (age)!

  35. The EP is better than the album. I see what is he doing tho, and it’s quite unorthodox, but I’m staying is fan.

  36. This EP is dope. For all of you wanting to hear Movies, Hell’s Winter, or even Smut Peddlers or Night Hawks. Go Fucking listen to those. He’s not on that shit anymore. But Big Up to homie for bringing up Dust vs Ecstasy.

  37. The guy who felt the need to capitalize the word ‘huge’ is a prat. Grow up.

  38. i like it :D

  39. “Rap People that dont listen to anything else and call rock bad/shitty without hardly listening to it or giving it a chance are just as close minded and annoying rock people who say all rap is shitty and sounds the same.”

Hahahahahaa its so weird you say that, I’m a “Rock People” who was pretty closed-minded about rap until I heard Cage (I never knew you) and P.O.S. (P.O.S. Is Ruining My Life) and I totally agree with you, man. Rock is my chosen musical style, but I’m learning to appreciate rap the same way I thionk rap folk should give rock a try. It’s two forms of expression, both equally valid, I only disliked rap beforee because I had only heard the corporate radio shit. Underground rap is cool.

  40. Listen up, I’ve seen cage multiple times,(at different points in his carreer) I worked for jux, and I’m an artist and producer as well,….(Long pause) CAGE does not care if you like this record. And him and chauncey tried to kick the shit outa nyone who said to play old shit, simply put, yur never getting the old cage back.

  41. @ Hannibal

You’re correct about never getting the old cage back, well at least we hope so. Cage isn’t as….for lack of better words, fucked up as he use to be. I respect him saying that if his fans don’t like it to depart from him too. I can only imagine how often he has to deal with shit from his past trying to suck him back into it.

Love the old Cage shit but I’m glad he is putting that shit behind him because it sure as fuck wasn’t healthy.
