Joe Budden is one of the best MCs out right now, in one of the best groups(if not the best) group out right now. Meth is a legend, BUT he isn’t at the top of his game right now like Budden. I think if they get on a track, Budden will rip Meth. The tracks from Blackout 2 are sick, but nothing compared to 36th Chambers Meth and Tical. Now, the issue I have with Budden is he lets his mouth run wild and sometimes comes off as disrespectful, especially to a legend like Meth. It’s good that he speaks on how he feels, but at the same time respect for pioneers and people that have paved the way is due. But, Meth is also starting to seem like one of the old heads that doesn’t want to relinquish the spotlight and let the new guys make a come up.

NO one was feeling the shit. So what he does to keep some fans. He releases Mood Muzik as a mixtape to keep the little buzz he had and to show the label that they should release his album but that shit got good feedback but not enough buzz to drop an album. So what does he do, he gave up and got tired and started blaming the label for his intellectual music that bored people on the radio and only people who were into mixtapes could vibe with him. Basically he’s not diverse at all. They finally let Buddens go from Def Jam the same label that Meth is on.
Meth didn’t do crazy numbers his last 2 albums but he managed to put stuff together and actually has a track record. Joey had his chance and proved to be a strong mc with no diversity. He will always be a hit or miss type mc. Some people will profoundly get bored after hearing too much of Buddens and others will say his lyrics are great.
So the so called career of Buddens doesn’t really have much because he technically only dropped 1 album or 2 if you count “Padded Bra” the bid disappointing extremly boring album that I thought was gonna be GREAT. I enjoyed Keri Hilson R&B album more than I did “Padded Bra”. “Padded Bra” was lyrical but so are all his other mixtapes. The album had boring topics boring beats, average hooks (how can you be so lyrical n create lame hooks?) and a bunch of skip worthy songs.

Method Man has a great catalog BUT he is not a “modern” MC. Those freestyles were disappointing. Now, I have listened to BO2 and its good, not great but good. Better than Relapse. Budden has a much more diverse catalog, maybe not the classics that Meth has made BUT his songs are much more diverse. Padded Room was also good, but there were some disappointments too. They are both good, Budden did disrespect Method in his rant but this, like all other comments in the music industry is/will be blown completely out of proportion.
They are different MCs. Meth is in the winter of his career, Red said it himself in that interview. Budden is beginning to get recognition, and he does have an ego like many other great artists.
