There’s really no hype/promotion for Blackout 2 and Red claims he wants to do shit how shit’s done today but yet their album is like dead weight. People say hiphop is dead…..yeah, it is. I was watching 106 & Park a lil bit today and all of a sudden Soulja Boy comes out and performs that wack ass Turn My Swag On and EVERYBODY is singing along which was very embarrasing on their part and for me to watch, had to change channels. If hiphop should come back the way it should be brought back then these hiphop artist’s need to promote/build hype and get the attention of EVERYBODY like how Em is doing. Not just make the music. Red and Meth have failed to help out so that’s why their irrelevant to me. They’re so focused on trying to make a sequel to How High. That shit should have been done years ago.
They are promoting it as of late. They don’t have all the promotion tools that Em has though. At least they are making really good music right now, same can’t be said for Em…it’s mediocre at the moment…
That’s almost hypocritical, Shady universe. It sounds like you’re refusing to give them the attention just because they’re not popular. granted I feel you, they really should promote their shit and so should all these other talented people, at least TY to catch the general audience’s eye, but good music is good music. not listening to their shit because it’s not getting any buzz… I don’t think that’s any better than listening to someone because they’re mainstream/popular. focus on whether on not you dig the music.

hip-hop is not dead in my opinion. you just have to know where to look. of course if all you listen to is the radio and mainstream shit i could see why someone would say that. not sayin that’s all you listen to…just sayin.

Em’s music is mediocre??? Hmmmmm, I didn’t know coming out about the homo shit, the drug abuse, the nearly dying, the depression, him turning out exactly like his mom, coming out about him being in a slump when Proof died which led him into the drugs and shit, feeling bad that Hailie had to see him like that, ending up in the hospital, coming out about the whole December 07 so called “pneumonia” thing is mediocre. I didn’t know that having a lil bit of fun with very few tracks in the mix of the purpose of this album is mediocre too.
Sounds like you contradicted yourself there just kenny. I’m not the artist. I’m the listener just like you and many people. The artists are supposed to catch our ears. That’s all I’m saying. They haven’t really done that with me. I just can’t force myself to listen. If I’m gonna do that then I need to just make my own music for that purpose. I’ll probably check the album out anyway but I’m just saying, they ain’t really promoted it to the point of where it’s gonna do hiphop any good other than just making the music and Red’s claims ain’t helping any.
