Grand Puba x The Roots (Video)

[vimeo 4612770]

Grand Puba stops by The Roots Jam Session at Highline Ballroom NYC and rips the mic with Black Thought.

I really really REALLY need to hit up one of these sessions.

  1. Thanks Shake. Now I’m in the mood for some classic Puba. ‘Reel to Reel’ is coming out with me today!!

  2. Seriously!!??!?!?! I’m the only one to comment on this post? I swear, I hate hip hop fans of today. It’s not even like I’m really old. I’m about to turn 26 this Summer – I just know (and live and breathe) hip hop. Anyone that doesn’t know Puba is seriously missing out. Thanks again Shake for attempting to educate. How old are you by the way??

  4. excellent. Black Thought and the Roots band are the better things that have happened to hip-hop. Tarik is the hardest working mc on earth. he is making it possible for hip hop to have “standard” pieces–like his performing G Rap’s “Men At Work” or playing hypeman to Grand Puba Maxwell. If other rappers would follow Black’s lead and ease off the ego tripping a little bit in order to properly pay homage to rap legends (and possibly create money-making situations for them) this could really create a serious movement.

    once again, beautiful stuff.
