  5. nah nah..i cant say his buzz is bigger than 50..people can say he better than 50..but i think they looking at how 50 is now..in 2002-2004 50 shook up the world..he had the songs, the hooks and he actually was good with the bars..everybody loved 50..i think if he never had the fall out with game..and g-unit remained together..you would of seen them dominate for many years to come..all his mixtapes was sellin and he was getting radio play with freestyles..shit he had like 5 singles on radio..drake isnt do that..drake is talented but 50 had everything tied into one..the look,being shot, being from ny..going to jail..like im not saying this is cool but 50 did what dmx did..come in the game when the people wanted that street shit..just like dmx in 98

  8. I think the pre-debut buzz for Drake way stronger than the pre-debut buzz for 50. I don’t Drake’s debut album will get the success of 50′s but the buzz is there. All he needs now is a strong set of singles and a great co-sign aka the new Em & Dre.

  13. I think Drakes buzz is bigger than Fif just pure on the fact hes UNSIGNED still. Thats amazing. Me and my homies had a debate bout this today, they claimed Gucci has a bigger buzz than drizzy, I had facts they didnt, They claim drake gets no play in the south, which is wrong becuz I know drama spins a couple of his joints, and every girl when it is played here in bama, they stop it right after drakes verse. I dont think Fifs buzz was good enough to where at his concerts, EVERYONE is singing his lyrics, WORD FOR WORD.

  15. definitely agree that drake needs a legit co-sign. but, he’s got wayne with him right now. he just needs a legit top single with wayne and the debut success is all set. or, he could take it a different route and team up with someone like trey songz or the dream- get an official version of “best I ever had”- and blow it up that way.

  16. I’m sure “Best I Ever Had” is going to be the single pushed for his album as well…but he don’t gotta hook up with no singer. HE IS A SINGER! He does sing and rap and act equally great. The version we got now IS the official version. He’s taking over the game yo. Why do I think he’s better than 50?

  24. I was at that show and the difference may be the love dude gets from the females. I almost got cut by the number of girls killing to get inside (it was a 3 hour wait).

    He doesn’t have a gangster image to live up to, sings along with rapping, dresses nicely and does his overall own thing. Different in 09 = what Gangsta was in 02, as far as what these kids emulate.

    Ladies, young HS crowd, plus his Degrassi exposure allows him to touch a market (read suburbia) 50 couldn’t really infiltrate til after GRODT dropped.

    His buzz is at an all time high, but I don’t know if the streets 100% mess with him. Heads can respect his lyricism, but he most liekly has a larger female following than male.

    Idk it’s a hard call… Big ups to him regardless because he’s achieved where he’s at minus any gimmicks.

    i prefer comeback season drake, but so far gone is def gaining him the most buzz out of the freshmen top 10 (even though he isn’t one of the them). everyone in my state is playing him. everyone one east is getting hip. everyone south is starting to listen, only people i know who arent listening are out west. 50 was a different type of monster back in 02, his buzz similar, especially in a declining market? possibly. is his album going to do numbers? yep. he has ladies on his tip with so far gone. and dudes like what ladies like [check the wine coolers i got in my fridge]

CDs on average dont sell as well now as they did when GRODT dropped… I can say that since i was about 10-11 years old when that came out, i hadnt heard of 50 before In Da Club b/c i just wasnt really looking for too much music. With Drake, Ive been listening to him since 05, since im from Canada so i used to go on myspace and went under Rap and location as Canada to find ones. Drake wont sell as much, but from what ive heard, Drake gets more applause than any other guest at the Wayne concerts, even more so than T-Pain… you just never know what can happen. 50 was coming up with 2 legends, Dre and Em. Drake is, unfortunetly IMO (cuz i liked him better when he was less known) getting big cuz of Wayne, who is also unfortunetly the most popular rapper of today, so there are similarities
