  1. The Black Album is a classic imo..

  2. yeah….i would call black album pretty dope. its not blueprint dope. but nontheless. its a hard job being jay forreal. nothing he does is right anymore., but still we adore.

  3. waaaaiit, so you’re saying none of those albums are classic? smh, all of those albums except blueprint 2 & kingdom come, are indeed classic albums son. kingdom come gets unnecessary hate, album was fly as hell. why niggas feel the need to slapbox with the god mc?

  4. BP3 will still be a beast if nothing else..

  5. American Gangster was hot, Black Album Was classic, Blueprint2 was him evolving into the lover boy

  6. doesnt matter tho.. im still gonna go get BP3

  7. AG = damn near classic

    Black Album = look above

    Blueprint = classic

    so…yeah….Meka has it on point.

  8. the difference between all those albums and BP3 is it’s Ye and No ID. The fact that i haven’t heard a kanye album that’s sucked (a lot of you’ll gone say 808s was garbage but that album flows so well and the only wack track is that nightmares joint cause hey are just screaming). This will probably be the best album to come out for Jay since BP… with that said i have an inclining that this might not be the best album to come out this year. Attention Deficit and Man on the Moon will probably GREAAAATTTTTT… i’ll put a mill on Wale and Cudi to knock all other things this year out the box if Ye doesn’t drop an album.

  9. jay-z is not the god mc

  10. i really hope you aren’t saying black album and AG aren’t classic albums. especially after that retarded rothboys stunt ya’ll pulled with this site on 4/20.

  11. he should of put at least 1 just blaze track on this album…

  12. Yall don’t think Reasonable Doubt was a classic?
    I feel like it definitely was…

  13. is*

  14. reasonable doubt is certified classic… but that’s also a different jay. that belonged to a different era of hip hop..i think we were talking about post blueprint jay….since he has since then been trying to redraw those “blueprints” and every album jay-z has dropped since then has had someone saying it will be the next blueprint….

    ^^^^^cudi’s album wont be great. neither will wales. i probably will buy them both to support the guys. wale will lyrically be dope. and cudi’s is going to be another 808′s and heartbreak (not just about heartbreak)….ya’ll love to hate on 808′s so im sure yall will find something wrong with it. they’ll be good albums i’m sure. but great? classics? no. cudi’s over hyped? yeah

  15. reasonable doubt = classic
    in my lifetime = pretty damn good (in my opinion)
    hard knock life = …..
    vol 3 (i forget the full title) = (see hard knock life)
    blueprint = way overrated, but good
    dynasty = ehh…
    blueprint 2 = a couple good songs
    black album = better than the blueprint
    kingdom come = underrated, but still pretty fucking bad
    american gangster = ….
    every american gangster remix album i downloaded = better than the actual american gangster album…
    bnlueprint 3 = probably will be worse the $10 ill pay for it, but nothing too too special

  16. I feel American Gangster is immensely under appreciated. As an entire album few things can touch the consistency in concept, the storyline flow the album follows, the beats chosen to complement the subject matter, and the lyrics themselves. Fallin’ is one of the hottest songs Jay has done in a while (lyrically).

    The Black Album was awesome for its significance to hip hop (an artist retiring after a long career), effect on pop culture (even people who don’t know jay-z know dirt off your shoulder and 99 problems), and the beats…the lyrics were good but not classic good like we might expect

    my 2 cents

  17. *blueprint 3 = probably will be worth $10 ill pay for it, but nothing too too special

    i cant spell today.

  18. NO I.D.’s ear for beats and constructing albums is one of the most respected in my book, just look at commons earlier lps, then matched with Kanye’s ear, we’re destined for greatness!!

  19. American Gangster was great. Haters.

  20. ryan c is pretty much on point.

  21. vol 3 is my favorite jay album…

  22. the blueprint is my favorite jay album of all time. its all opinion tho, but jay going in over soul beats does it for me.

  23. Blueprint is the best album of this decade. Dudes still trying to catch up to it. Amereican gangster was a great album and so was the black album. The hate jay gets is incredible.

  24. BLACKALBUM IS A CLASSIC

  25. matter a fact, nething hova puts out is classic

  26. hov only has to battle with himself. his worst album could be some of these other niggas’ best.

  27. RD=classic
    Vol. 1=personal favorite
    vol. 2=mediocre
    vol. 3=mediocre
    dynasty=ok..good team effort
    Blueprint=classic..every artist took note, even Nas
    Blueprint 2=mediocre as a double album..if u combined the best songs on the Gif and the Curse into its own LP, then that there is a classic
    Black Album=above average, but not quite classic
    Kingdom Come=above average, but the production lacked soul
    American Gangster=above average..Hov back on his bullshit

  28. Vol.1 is mad underrated, minus the couple commercial tracks it isn’t too far from some of Jay’s best. I think more and more with time people are seeing the black album as a classic release, it’s just harder to certify shit in modern times, especially with some of these critics gassin and takin sheen off albums.

    AG was a near miss for me, more cos it was a retread of RD and Blueprint than anything oh and hello brooklyn 2.0 was truly terrible. Messed up the flow and feel of the album.

  29. The Black Album was a monster. I think it easily goes toe to toe with the Blueprint. Blueprint was the more consistent album, but the Black Album had the epic joints like PSA, December 4th, What More Can I Say and 99 Problems. Not to mention Dirt On YOur Shoulders, Moment of Clarity and Encore. What more could you want? Yeah, Pharell gave Jay a couple garbage tracks to spit on, but the majority of the album is straight beast shit.

  30. Reasonable Doubt = classic (not that anyone was debating that)
    Vol.1 = Underrated, very good
    Vol.2 = Decent
    Vol.3 = Decent
    The Dynasty = Not good, below average
    The Blueprint = Classic
    The Blueprint 2 = Average as a double album, if it was one disc, it’d be way above average
    The Black Album = Classic
    Kingdom Come = Decent
    American Gangster = Near classic
    The Blueprint 3 = ? I’m betting on another near-classic with the potential be classic. Kanye on the boards for almost the whole album? I’d bet on that any day, all day.

  31. Lupe is planning to drop two LPs this year. One of them will be the best hip hop album of the year. He did it in 2006 and again in 2007.

  32. Not to hate, I agree with most of the opinions posted, but I gotta say that I think The Black Album was definately a classic. The beats were just so fucking good. And , talk about an underrated track from that album, I still can’t help but be impressed everytime I hear Lucifer

  33. yo fam, blueprint is a classic we all know this and so was black album..american gangster is like 4.5..but to question wheather blueprint is a classic..come on man.somebody just isnt a jay-z fan or hating if they dont think thats a classic..black album..come on crazy album

  34. yo fam, blueprint is a classic we all know this and so was black album..american gangster is like 4.5..but to question wheather blueprint is a classic..come on man.somebody just isnt a jay-z fan or hating if they dont think thats a classic..black album..come on crazy album

  35. the black album is a classic you dumbass

  36. and about the black album. jay was the only guy spittin on the whole shit. no guest appearances, nothing. who does that? only hov can hold down a whole album like that and not feel he needs hot guest appearances and what not. he is the hot guest appearance. definite classic

  37. Co-Sign @ Twomp & Yeah and actually almost all of you, Black Album = Classic, BluePrint = Pretty Damn Classic.

    Shake got love for you but damn, you fell the fuck off with that comment.

  38. Co-Sign @ Twomp & Yeah and actually almost all of you, Black Album = Classic, BluePrint = Pretty Damn Classic.

    Shake I got love for you but damn, you fell the fuck off with that comment.

  39. American Gangster was the shit it’s a classic to me

  40. u need to take that line crossing off the black album and american gangster out

  41. Man… people throw the word “classic” around waaaaaaaaaaaay too much.

  42. american gangster is a classic

  43. American Gangster Kingdom Come The Black Album The Blueprint are some of the best hip hop albums of the later generation. Show respect.

  44. American Gangster was good…not enough standout tracks to be a classic imo. Blueprint (which Shake said was a classic, don’t go twisting his words) and Black Album are real classics. Lyricism, production impressive as a whole and each track on its own, that’s what makes a classic and both those have it.

  45. jays got 6 classics…go figure

  46. Jay has classic albums.
    AG was very close to a classic,
    blueprint classic,
    Blueprint 2 if was like 14 tracks would have been a classic,
    black album classic,
    reasonable doubt is classic,
    and i don’t care but the mtv unplugged was a classic to me also. That album was so dope

    Kingdom Come was very underated man that album was diff but for real was dope

    BP#3 will be nice but idk what to expect. AG jay or the songs he do now Jay

  47. the black album is a classic, come on now
