Parts of me wants to be insulted by this. However, most of me is inclined to play this in my iPod over every Auto-Tuned song in existence. Still, the fact that someone would do this at all? RAoF-worthy.

Video
shit goes hard
i saw this the other day… this is on some boondocks shit. funny as hell
What the heoooo?
it actually sounds good!
lmao its funny because it actually sounds good
That’s fucking awful. Anyone with any respect for the man, and moreso the issues he stood for should be offended by this. It’s a blatant insult to everything Dr. King stood and stands for to this day.
Bad move, Meka.
i wanted to be insulted but its so catchy. it sounds good mayun.
insulted?
music crosses all barriers in society and culture. music is the one thing all nations come together with. you don’t need to speak the same language to understand, feel and relate to music. how is this disrespectful? it’s another way to have his message out there for discussion in the world today and it’s done in a solid manner.
fucking awful? get with it kid.
and how does a dude named ‘Sasha’, some serbian kid, gonna try to speak on MLK and tell us how awful this is?!?!
that hook was kinda catchy…
why did it make me think of a kanye track?
um anyways. It would have been more respectful, all beit random, if someone actually sang the words rather than altering the mans voice. “T-Paining” MLK just doesn’t sit well with me.
smh
@jon.C
made me think of the faux-Kanye West track Gay Fish …
no offense intended.
I’m sorry, but anybody with auto-tune is funny. I don’t care if it was Ghandi, Mother Teresa, or whoever. auto-tune just automatically makes it funny. nothing against MLK.
btw, what’s the beat behind it?
its more to show how shitty culture has gotten. MLK didnt fight for the right to auto-tune your way into success. he fought for equal rights for everyone and now America has lost all morals.
this is funny as hell tho i have to admit. its not a “lets diss black people” video. dont get your panties knotted
or just random bullshit, either way its funny
LMAO god damn thats hilarious
” “T-Paining” MLK just doesn’t sit well with me. ”
Co-Sign
shouldn’t sit well with anyone.
fuck no
if anyone took offense to this … wow. go organize a rally and see how many “anti-autotuning-of-famous-speeches” supporters you can get. the product itself is actually fun. all the words are intact, the beat is nice, the chorus is great … i mean it would be a different issue completely if they cut the words to actually say something insulting … but they didn’t. it’s actually creative. get over it.
will.i.am sung and sampled king’s speech on that one common song. did any of y’all flip out over that?
^^^ i agree
so does bangkadang.com
join it!
It’s one thing for will i am to sample mlk’s voice to make I have a dream by common. That was in vein of deep music and it had a purpose. It added something new on to Mlk’s message. Auto tuning MLK’s speech? that’s in the vein of bullshit. It’s not creative…..at all. Anyone could take a speech, auto tune it and put a generic beat behind it. It’s the same shit that that auto tune the news is on (which is meant to be funny) it demeans the mans ideals and I cant respect that.
If someone went back and made Roots in auto tune with a “catchy” beat and hook going every time someone was whipped or said something of impact, would you call that creative and respectful? If you do, just do yourself a favor and never speak to your kids about civil rights or anything of importance.
Somebody needs their ass kicked. For real. This speach does not need any bullshit effect on it. Dr.Martin Luther King`s words have effect without having a effect on it. SMFH.
Either everything is OK to poke fun at, or none of it is. That’s the South Park rule, and we can all take notes from it.
I don’t understand how this is offensive. Shits funny and dopeee.
And the comparison that Jae did was pretty dumb.
They auto toned his voice and it sounded sick…..the message
still gets across in a unique way. People catch feelings to much.
so you are taking a strict stance of being offended based on the fact of voice modulation? really? that’s where the line of sensitivity is drawn our generation? voice modulation of a speech?
nothing here was taken out of context. the “i have a dream” message is PURELY INTACT. no one said that the speech NEEDED to be auto-tuned to hold moral and historical weight. please. but no one was killed in the making of this video. no one’s rights were taken away in the making of this video. no one was even made fun of in this video. it’s just a variation on the sampling in nearly every single song we enjoy in hip hop. it’s not up to YOU to decide was does and doesn’t have purpose. and whether or not something is humorous doesn’t mean it discredits or demeans the content. come on.

i just dont understand how this is funny its more insulting to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s son since it was did without his permission. I dont know really how i feel about this but ima just say that it was demeaning, and i dont think Dr. Martin Luther King Jr would have approved of this at all!!
the autotune the news shit is funny
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=736C3116AD309B58
its not purely the voice modulation that is offensive, its the fact that they took the serious subject of the speach and Martin Luther King Jr’s vision, which he died for, and turned it into a “joke” about how rediculous music entertainment has gotten. Use some other speech that is well known, this is uncalled for. this really isn’t very funny to me. and no it doesn’t sound good or catchy, you are just an idiot if you think it does.
How do you NOT get that comparison, thats just ignorant if you dont.
Roots had an impact in civil rights from its shocking imagery and it’s depiction of slavery. MLK’s speech was meant to break barriers and help put an end to segregation. Young people seem to take for granted that if it wasnt for people like him, blacks would still have little to no rights. Boondocks even did their thing with MLK, but it was for a reason. it was actually condemning shit like this.
You dont take one of the most influential speeches in American, scratch that, human history and make it into some shit youd put on the radio. It’s called watering down, and it’s exactly why real niggas dont fuck with auto tune.
And really…we’re going off of south park rules now? you really dont think matt stone and trey parker had a line they dont cross (let alone when they make fun of something it actually has a purpose….this is just….a “Random Act of Fuckery”)
if someone recorded idk, your dads dieing words and put auto tune on it and made it a dance joint….would you just be like, well nothing is off limits?
@ everyone offended.
No one is being insulted here. Someone just decided to make a catchy song for ENTERTAINMENT. if anything this will help people remember his message even more. chill out and just listen.
sounds dope btw haha
this is def fuckery
Lmao, wtf…
this post is just like all the other posts… IF YOU KNOW YOUR GOING TO BE OFFENDED…. THAN KEEP IT MOVING
^this isnt like most other post. people will click a [insert artists here] post, knowing they dont like that artist. wont listen to the song, and then they will comment and say it sucks, just because they’re on the internet and they have no restrictions.
this on the other hand, you had to click it and see what was going on. after clicking, and after evaluating, you have the right to comment if you approve or disapprove. this can be interpreted as offensive. if i saw it on fox news, i would be a little more upset. but here on this site, already labeled as fuckery, you do have a point, people should k.i.m, well, they at least shouldnt get into too heavy a debate over it’s apparent ignorance.
some things aren’t ok to make fun of and everyone is going to feel differently on that subject.
THE SOUTH PARK… RULE???????????????????
man you are funny…
and to this guy: “whether or not something is humorous doesn’t mean it discredits or demeans the content”
ever hear of parody? BRAINS = SMARTS
alright. make your list of everything in life that is to be held in permanent reverence and never touched or spoken upon except in a matter of direct quotation with exact voice inflection as to not offend anyone. print up the fliers and hand em out so we can all understand what’s above the art of even noninflammatory comedy.
and to this guy: “ever hear of parody?”
no i haven’t. i’m an idiot. sorry, next time i’ll use lots of superfluous punctuation to attempt to cover up my general cultural ignorance…………………………..
so does anyone truly believe that the INTENTION of this video was to discredit dr. martin luther king jr.’s speech? does anyone truly believe the makers of this video decided this was their way to voice their opinion that dr. king is a joke and that black people shouldn’t have equal standing? does anyone truly believe the use of auto tune in this video is to be correlated with suffering of minorities in the civil rights era as humorous? there are so many serious racial issues still going on in the world today and this is not even a fraction of one.
let me know when you print them fliers up cuz for all i know, i may demean and discredit all of humanity and culture as we know it every time i try to creatively express anything.
some of these nigs hav prob neva heard this speech, so if auto-tuning it you must, then i give whoever did this props.loll

the intent of the creator of the video is not what is offensive to people, fool.
pretty interesting how what is on the fliers would be truly objective, absolute standards, yet noninflammatory comedy is a subjective matter.
and yes. superfluous punctuation covers up my ignorance. my ignorance at the fact that you are wrong and you are a fool.
no one is talking about any humor in the civil rights era. people that hold that man and his AMERICA-CHANGING speech in high regard get offended when it is demeaned by making it into a song, WHEREAS MELODY AND BEAT misconstrue the message BY MAKING IT CATCHY AND FUN! who the FUKK listened to the words? YO THIS BUMPS! that’s not the point of the speech
if the song, autotune or not, takes away from the speech, that is demeaning.
“make your list of everything in life that is to be held in permanent reverence and never touched or spoken upon except in a matter of direct quotation with exact voice inflection as to not offend anyone.”
auto-tune is a joke in and of itself, so this sentence is void anyway
i will concede to being a fool. i am hereby voided. but you’re still fighting the wrong battle. autotune is not the enemy of civil progression and standards in america. sometimes i think people being offended and focusing their energy on making an “al sharpton moment” out of trivial matters is the real issue.
the world would be an even worse effed up place if people decided to take offense to personal interpretation instead of intent. but obviously you do already, so i guess i’m even further voided. damn.
