The good folks at illRoots premiered this song of Wale and some guy I’ve never heard of in my life. Wale’s verse is kinda dope, though, so I guess that’s what really counts.

the beat knocks too..its that gogo shit!
ehhhhh this dude southeast slim sounds like a DMV version of Lil John. Not down with that. Wale does his thing thing though so it’s all kosher.
The beat does knock
Southeast Slim was on the original version of Wale’s ‘One Thing About A Playa’ and ripped it. This is ok, nice verse from Wale…
This track is str8. Slim & Wale got a track called Bomb though that’s tough.
I’m a fan of Wale’s work and he def body’s this. But I think this rolls and can respect it for the club/single type of track it is. I can see it doing stupid in the club.
Wale in Cincinnati… May 12, 2009
Southeast Slim definitely has recognition in DMV, and to Hi My Name Is Sean above, he doesn’t sound like the DMV version of lil john, but looks like Lil John, don’t judge a book by its cover man.
Can someone explain what “plaits” are? lol not sure on that one.
I am sure that this song is fly as hell tho. shake yer plaits guys.
^^snickerdoodle dandeeta..(lol at the name)
i think plaits are something to do with hair..but i have no fucking clue exactly what they are
plaits = braids?
Word @ MusikFiend that’s what I was gonna say. I used to listen to that shit every morning working. And when I was just driving around, track banged.
@ Musikfiend
The Bomb is a sick fuckin track. For anyone a fan of Wale or feelin Southeast Slim at all, check The Bomb. That song got crazy spins in my car for a while. And yea, he was on 1 thing about a playa
plaits are individuals…
See this is why DC hip-hop doesn’t go anywhere. Go-Go does not bang anywhere by the district and niggas doing songs like “Put me in the pocket” and “shake ya plaits” aren’t going to get much attention outside of the area. Shout out to dudes like Oddisee, Kenn Starr and even Wale who don’t put local gimmicks first.
*above
“Put me in the pocket” isn’t Go-Go. You contradicted yourself because you just named artist/producers that are from the area that are well know. I also think you should take Wale off that list.
yeah plaits are braids, it’s an older phrase, kinda outdated.
wow…because this song is heavy go go influenced, it’s a local gimmick? I think that way of thinking is why ppl don’t get much attention. I’m from Oakland and this shit sound dope to me…but I also might be bias because I think SE Slim is dope as shit anyway..
It should be spelled plats not plaits, lol. But yeah plats are the braids females where think brandy in Moesha, lol.
Oh yeah i found a link to that Bomb track we was talkin bout.

elitaste had this shit up for a min
southeast slim is arguably on one of wales top 5 biggest tracks
“breakdown” smh
i dont think it’s arguable that slim is on that track. pretty sure it’s fact. sMh.
southeast slim! dmv outchea
Yall need to do some research… Southeast Slim produced, Dig Doug, 1 Thing About a Playa, Breakdown, The Bomb and Shake Ya Plats… that niggas remarkable… If yall wanna call him the DC Lil Jon for producing hot ass tracks i can dig that.
Without Slim there is no Wale.Slim’s production and beats put Wale on the map.Now it’s Slim time to come up
Don’t forget FLATLINE… Slim produced flatline too. He got a bunch of shit on imeem. imeem.com/seslim202
