Joey and Drake on a beat similar to something off So Far Gone would be ideal. Anybody that’s followed Budden’s career knows that when he gets on R&B tracks he absolutely kills that shit. The You Got It Bad verse that he did back in the day was beyond dope. Consider that lane is Drake’s forte, I could see a track with those 2 would be serious.

Yeah I don’t know since when it was sissy to just be a laid back dude. I was just sitting here at work listening to So Far Gone AGAIN and I’m actually pretty amped about the possibility of Joey and Drake doing a song together. I know they didn’t even mention a possible collaboration, but when you see artists showing mutual respect and admiration for one another, usually collabos aren’t too far down the line.

I would say Drake is organic based off the fact that he’s been doing his thing for a few years now. So Far Gone is his people and wasn’t something that a label paid big money to get some DJ to host or bought a beat from a big named producer. Just because he’s now signed to a label, doesn’t mean his growth hasn’t been attributed to his own doing.

I agree with Seve_O. An artist can be organic (in their artistic growth and product) and be backed by a major label. If their is a relationship of trust built – mostly, they believe based on the result of your product it will sell – then the label will provide the financing of marketing, production, and miscellaneous needs.
