This is definitely inspired by the paper trail cover. I do wonder if Wale’s Attention: Deficit will have something similar. On his hypebeast blog a while back, Wale had an image he used that he said wasn’t the official artwork but it had the same idea of a person being made up of pills.
For all the haters who’ve been talkin about how Em fell off…this should be a sign of things to come. “We Made You” is going to be far from the ordinary on this album. Em is acknowledging the battle he had with prescription drugs. I’m a firm believer that this album is going to have a lot of heavy, heavy subject matter.
When Royce co-signed and said Relapse would be for Em what the Black Album was for Jay, he had my attention all over again. I’m counting down the days to this one.

Cover’s real cool.. the pill effect is nice but I think the prescription label is the most interesting thing on it lol. Prescribed by Dr.Dre, ’313′ capsules as the quantity, the refill date as the release date of the album. I know I’m just pointing out the obvious but it’s pretty funny.
Can’t wait for this album.. we should have it within the next 2-3 weeks.
@T-Dot It is like paper trail because it is something little (paper or pills) that makes up something bigger (the portrait of the artist). No one gives a fuck that a creatively styled face is there, it’s the manner in which the face is constructed.
I this is a good cover for Em. Looking forward to the album….
Heres a tutorial on how to make that cover:
1.Get a pill brush or create it yourself, its literally a curved corner rectangle and a circle, set them as brushes.
2. Set it to scatter, brush the fuck out of it.
3. Set a gradient, ranging from orange to red. But apply it on the 2nd half of the image.
4. Colour the pills on the left handside, pretty simple just yellows and reds.
5. Get image of Eminem and pick restrict the amount of colours being used by the image.
6. Set it as a mask, and make it black

@ REZ: Your completely right, i think it’s funny how people think this cover is some amazing piece of art, it really is so simple to make. I’m not for or against Em, or for or agaisnt TI, but TI’s cover did take FARRRRR more talent to create. But as long as it looks cool right? haha
its a dope cover,regardless of the simplicity. but im just anxious to hear some non-single type material off the album. i got hight hopes for Em material for the first time in about 5-6 years

i know this is out of color, but I just read about the think where ricky said he might come at Em. Suicide homie!
Y’all acting like Paper Trail was the first piece of work that ever used that style. Relatively recently the movie poster for Lord of War with Nick Cage has the same thing going on with various bullets/artillery making up his face. Em ain’t biting T.I. and his cover, but they are definitely a similar style.
And y’all making light of the actual photoshop work done on this. It’s not as simple as an overlay of an image of Em over pills. The colours don’t blend throughout an individual pill, each pill is it’s own separate colour. Due to the resolution of the image it’s clearest to see this at the hairline, where the red pills are overlapping with yellow pills without it being a straight fade. It’s obviously not hard to colourize a pill, but there is a lot of them. So it’s an incredibly intricate and time-consuming piece of work that took longer than 5 minutes (as someone said).
But then again, who the fuck cares how long it takes to make in photoshop. Designing covers is not about photoshop skills, it’s about DESIGN skills. Illmatic is a crazy dope cover, and that’s maybe 1-2 minutes of photoshop work.
T.I.’s Paper Trail album cover was bitten off of John Coltrane’s album Coltrane’s Sound that came out in 1964. Click my name for proof.
But Relapse is nothing like those two. Its dope. As a photoshop user I can respect the quality of it.
