Asher Roth – Street Freestyle w/ DJ Enuff (Video)

Asher Roth kicks a few bars for DJ Enuff from what looks like just outside of the A-List Radio building. Could be wrong though. Anyways… ya’ll can say what you want, but the kid took the number 1 spot on iTunes. Take that Miley Cyrus! And speaking of DJ Enuff, he (along with DJ Envy) previews the upcoming remix of Red Cafe’s Hottest in the Hood w/ Juelz, Jada, Lloyd Banks, Busta & OJ Da Juiceman after the jump…

  2. i still can’t get past that gimmick vibe i get from him. the thing is i listen to everything i can by him, hoping something gets me to relate to his music.

    until then
    YYYAAAAAOOOOWWWAAAA!!!

  3. Smh at the Miley Cyrus comment -_- LOL
Album was dope, I expected as much

  4. This has to be the dopest ive seen him free, looks like hes gettin the hang of it. This is REAL freestyle people. Somethin’ that seems to have been lost in the hip-hop game.

  5. Jeez, the Roth album isn’t that good. Really. I try to go into every album without prejudice. And this album’s not great. The beats are dull, subject matter irritating and his voice isn’t captivating. Now, as far as debuts go, Curren$y’s is way ahead of Asher.

Hard to believe someone would devote their blog design and advertising space to something so unremarkable.

So because you can’t relate to him, you feel he’s a gimmick?
I can’t even shake my head to that…*blank stare*
@JOYC you know, I felt the album was pretty cool. This kid got flows, not something that’s going to get you to be like “yea I know what he talkin about” but it’s entertaining to some extent.
Ain’t nothing wrong with changing the layout of the site to advertise the album. They could do that with any album, even your favorite rapper’s and for all we know that album could be viewed by most as..well…shit.

  7. The album’s incredible. Point, blank, period. The thing I like most about it is it’s widespread appeal. There’s something there for a wide variety of music fans, not just hip hop fans. It’s not the same old shit we’re used to hearing (ahem, Rick Ross).

  8. @ dude that put Currensy’s album above Ashers….well, i have yet to listen to it, but im sure its decent. I have a feeling tho, that it lacks what every other mixtape mcs albums lack…concept and creativity outside of lyrical content. Asher’s album, on the other hand, is very creative and in many ways conceptual. I think its got mass appeal….hiphop, underground, clearchannel top 40 station, and so on. I respect the opinion of others, but i would have to go out on a limb and suggest ignorance and arrogance on your part. The truth is, the album is solid….more importantly, its consistent and GOOD. I cant count the number of albums that are so lackluster they’re not even worth mentioning. While Asher’s album is a breath of fresh air and carries quality throughout. Hate if you must, but don’t be suprised when a year from now Asher is a household name. Dude’s creative and smart…..his time spent furthering his education and getting a degree is very evident in his lyrical output. Not aimed at anyone directly, but i feel as if half of the negative criticism and overall hate (copywrite anyone??) is based out of jealousy and anger. Lets face it….its fucking ROUGH for a white emcee to crossover and get mainstream appeal and acceptance….and it seems as if whenever someone does, the hate just pours in in bunches. Just my 2 cents

  9. i hate having to look a bottoms of a mans bare feet everytime I sign in to dopeboyz.. no fucking homo

  10. @Joe its not hate, its just some people don’t understand the undying love shown for a work of mediocrity. its a pop album. i don’t really know what content and lyricism you are alluding to. the things he talks on he barely scratches the surface on, he did a stereotypical song about college, a song about not wanting a girl, a song about girls not wanting guys, a song about how hes not eminem, please stop me if i’ve missed the ground breakingness of how he’s shown his view on things

  11. @sorry–being lyrical doesn’t mean what you are implying it does. You could be lyrical about the fertilization of grass, not just deep, philosophical shit. Content wise….well the albums just fun. Really fun. And in a few spots…a lil deep.
