Drake – Angie Martinez Interview (Audio)

Since some of the dopeboyz out there are comparing Big Sean with Drake, it’s only right to make a post featuring the T-Dot’ian. Angie gets the first official radio interview with Drizzy… who talks on his TV past; pretty much confirms the track with Hov (not included in the audio), denies writing for Wayne and praises his genius, etc. Shouts to RR on the ripppage.

  1. Track has already hit the radio in TDot. ive heard it a few times on the radio. Drake is all people play around here.

  2. Yuh I wuz surprised how many people jumpin on the Drake train when bout half a year ago i asked some1 to put on some drake in the far or somethin they like who the fk is that?
N the rest of em wont listen to it cuz it aint “gangsta”
    get the fuckk

  3. Shit is already buzzing in NY. The ladies going crazy for it.

  4. EVERYONE is on Drake’s dick at my highschool. Mostly cause they ride Lil Wayne’s dick religiously, so they heard Weezy was on Drake’s mixtape and that was the sole reason they downloaded it. But now they claim he’s the next Weezy. Ugh. Abercrombie wearing and Weezy worshiping teenagers have made Hip-Hop a trend. Damn shame!

  5. Malici same here and im in T-dot.

  6. Drake n Wiz r prob the 2 best upcomin artists (imo)

  7. who the fuck cares if abercrombie wearin kids listen to it grow the fuck up man hip hop aint about fuckin totin guns n wearin baggin jeans with a certain color rag hangin on a certain side…damn n if them “gangstas” do make it big they aint doin the shit ne more they rap so they aint gotta do that shit….preeeeach

  8. yup drake is getting larger but it seems like ‘best i ever had’ is like the only drake song the bandwagoners know about.

  9. I swear I haven’t heard one joint from this dude.. Not one. Don’t even know what he sounds like. That should give you an idea of what kind of music I listen to.

  10. Please no. PLEASE don’t kill another artist with radio.

I had told one person in my school about Drake & the mixtape I was bumping for weeks on end. Then everyone started to have “You The Best I Ever Had” as they mood on their Spaces. I hate when I’m around, singin’ some shit, then niggas hear it like, a month later (i.e. Knock You Down) & they are all, HOW YOU LEARN THE WORDS SO FAST.

the mind of a fourteen year old. able to hold lyrics of every song it hears.

Damn Weezy Addicts will have two addictions. Oh, & to Relentless. I think he is pointing out the fact that many of many white kids listen to artist and they claim to be their all-time favorite without knowing anything below the surface of Radio.

  11. his voice is so sexy, just his speaking voice will do it for me….fuck a mixtape lol. but nah, if you’re only rockin’ his last tape you need to invest in the first two.

  12. Hell, I ain’t even know about Drake’s previous mixtapes until I did some research. My friend had showed me Replacement Girl then the pattern came about & I found about Comeback Season & Room for Improvment.

  13. wayne’s a genius? since when? he has a good work ethic, but his manager could’ve come up with the drop mixtapes every single week idea soo idk

  14. I’ve been on drake for a while.
    Well… Before he blew up.
I’m juss glad he’s living the dream.
And is truly humbled, by the success.
I hope nothing, but the best for him…

    If you haven’t get the
    Comeback Season
    Room for Improvement mixtapes.

  16. i dunno i’m digging “you the fuckin’” better but hey, at least he’s getting spins, DRIZZY!

  17. When drake has a good song holla at me.

  18. You The Best I Ever Had – isnt that a t-pain song?

  19. You The Best I Ever Had – isnt that Kanye rapping?

  20. You The Best I Ever Had – Isnt that Trey Songz singing?

Wait a minute… When has originality gone?

PS: why does this nigga have a down south accent on half his songs?

  21. @sam
his pops lives in memphis, where drake spent a lot of summers growing up.

  22. at sam no he just has his yeah drops on it

  23. @Sam hey grew up in Tennessee during his childhood. lol @shake using @replies like twitter.YOU WILL JOIN SOON!

  24. ive been using @ before twitter.
    fuck twitter haha.

  25. people gonna make him the new wayne “best rapper alive (label)”? yes.
    better than wayne? yes.
worth all the hype? not even close.

dudes got talent, but anyone, even from just looking at a couple posts from 2dbz knows theres A LOT more talented dudes out there

  26. To Relentless904 or w/e the hell your name is-

What are you talking about? Who’s talking about baggy clothes? I’m talking about preppy lame ass kids who don’t know an ounce of hip-hop or even who J Dilla is. Who was glorifying violence? I love acts like U-N-I, Blu, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots, and Cool Kids cause they DON’T talk about violence or drugs or hoes in every verse.

I’m saying, for you to claim your hip-hop and all you know are radio artists such as Weezy or Kanye, and you cop one of their “underground” mixtapes and think you’re on some exclusive shit, that’s stupid! I’m saying all these ignorant Abercrombie wearing kids (I can’t even say white kids because there are plenty of white kids who could destroy me in a rap battle) don’t care to search on the topic they’re claiming to know so much about, yet they will go to war to tell you they were on Drake before anyone else.

PLEASE get your facts straight SON.

  27. ^^^ just listen to “say what’s real” and his verse on “stuntin” w/ lil wayne…ik theres even more lyrical beasts than drake out there but those two particular verses are pretty hard to top from a personal standpoint

  28. Yea iono,Drake is talented and all but all this shyt is comin ratha fast for him. There’s a lot of otha heads wit talent that don’t know the people he did thru his actin career, aint hav tha money to hit up Trey or whoeva for a feature.None of that.He got some skills but there’s also J.Cole,Big Sean,Wale,Wiz,Asher. And all them are marketable too.Iono……it’z clear that CO-SIGNS and MONEY are a STRONG thang in tha industry nowadayz

  29. anything you say is irrelevant. he aint fucking with max b. PERIOD!

  30. @Cr!tical “many of many white kids” why u say it like that im white and kno more about hiphop then any black or mexican or any other person in my school thats kinda stereotypical

  31. I check out music from T-Dot and other Canadian artists since im from there, and Ive been banging Drake’s shit since 06 at least. Back then, Him and Wayne on a track (not just the Man of the Year sample) woulda been my dream, but i listen to more underground now than i did then, and Wayne just dropped off lyrically to me, even thou his popularity went up (coincendence??)

Anyway, Drake still one of my favs, but i just cant stand the damn Wayne dick riders that are all over Drake now, when 3 years ago i played Room for Improvement and those people said “ehhh”, and now… he’s like their idle or some shit. Funny how shit like that changes

  32. Drake deserves everything he gets. The kid worked his ass off to get where he is now. Congrats. I’km proud like I know the cat personally. But I’ve b een rocking with him from Jump street (real talk…no gimmicks) I remember waiting my ass off for Room For Improvement to drop. So I’m fucking happy. Hope Hov signs him to Roc NationM SHout out to Mickey Factz and the whole GFC. Great move fellas…

  34. not my thing, this is made for the weezy dick riders and people who know every word to the new songs til something comes and replaces it

  35. @ “s”

I say it like that because I’ve never met a white person who knows more then a Hip Hop song past 2004+. And they love to go around flaunting their knowledge of the NEW SHIT THEY HEARD, only to get shot down when they realize the song has come out a month or two earlier.

&you must be at one preppy ass school. Or, there are, most likely, little Mexicans or Blacks in that school. Or you just don’t talk to them to realize your years behind. White people are kind of easy to predict when it comes to Hip Hop. Hate to sound racist, but I always sound like An Afrocentric Marksman, so I ain’t fighting it.

    Reel Tawk.

  37. @Imnotselfless

I ain’t know that Wayne & Drake were sucking each others dick until So Far Gone. Then I saw the nigga on four songs. I like Drake as DRAKE, not The Right Testicle of Lil Wayne’s Gentiles.
lol, and I know the words to any song, regardless. If I listen to it enough, it gets embedded sorta.

  38. Anyone comparing Big Sean to Drake has played themselves. They MUST know that.

And it’s on the radio, clean versions of anything suck my left. You the “you the” best! I’ll take some Comeback Season over So Far Gone, in the car anyway. Ask Budden’s how Drake is.

  39. fuck thsi wheel chair naggar

  40. Super Late they will be…we REAL music biffs been on dude!

  41. kudos to this kids music love it

  42. Now that Drake is getting on, the hate has increased exponentially. No surprise though.

  43. ^some say hes got more bandwagon supporters some say hes got more haters…honestly real music fans always liked drake though even when he was a “underground” rapper that had songs with dwele little brother elzhi etc…he still had a solid loyal base….but hes def gonna give kanye and lupe etc…a run for there money….this kids gonna take it…i can only pray blu gets that major push to and drake and blu work togother in the future!!!!!!

make it happen 2 dope boyz!

  44. I agree. I can’t stand it when all of a sudden people rock Drake just cuz he’s w/ Young Money. I proud myself in being a loyal fan since City is Mine in 05′. I think he killed that one.

  45. Wow I can’t stand when people dislike someone who is actually good and try to find a reason to not like them because they prefer a different artist. That makes no sense to me.

1st things first, not every one is gonna make it at the same time.
Just support good music man! There’s nothing wrong with this dudes lyrics, flow, beat selection and hooks. I’m sure the person you prefer has the same qualities in their own way too.

As supporters of underdogs or unknown artists this is what we all route for; and that’s your unknown artist to be known to the masses and appreciated for their skills. Here it is where it’s actually happening to one of those “unknown/underground” artist and people find a way to not like him now that he’s actually getting recognized. Wow! I mean with all the garbage artists that get constant radio play why not support someone with skill even if he’s not your 1st choice.

  46. Oh yeh I do agree with the bandwagon fans because he fucks with Young Money. Dude was hot before that in ’04-’05. Don’t be a fan because he’s dealing with Wayne be a fan cause he got good music leeches.
