During the Rock the Bells press conferance that went down last week, Rae explains why the original Cuban Linx cassette tape was purple. If you don’t know about the purple tape, exit stage left and stay off the c-section. The clip also features Crooked I asking his own set of questions to The Chef; like how MC Eiht got into an early Wu-Tang video. Dopeness. And if you missed the post a few steps down, OB4CL2 this Summer!
Hip Hop, Video

long live the Purple tape!!
Wonder what he’ll do with the packaging this time…
The Purple Tape = Classic fuckin album.
Now this one not only has RZA on the beats but Dre too?! And DILLA?!
Sheeeiiit…
That’s one thing I love seeing with the advent of the internet. Rappers being friendly with and fans of other rappers and showing that respect. Crooked just naturally vibing with Rae like it’s nothing and him being a real fan.
Greatest solo Wu-Tang album! OB4CL AKA Purple Tape
It would really be a sequel if Ghost was on 75% of the tracks like in one.
I listened to the purple tape too much that I busted 2 purple tapes sophomore year of high school. Had to upgrade and get a disc man and get the purple case!
Purple tape?
AHHH man that was a great interview. Wu-Tang was a jolt of power/dominance to hip-hop when they came through. Absolutely seemingly invincible at one point. Their legend/legacy will be remembered with exceptional awe! Only Built 4 Cuban Linx masterpiece album!
