The Hot Spitta chops it up with 2-cent to talk about his career (from the mixtapes, No Limit, his fall out with Wayne, etc) and his upcoming album, This Ain’t No Mixtape (April 21st).
The clip of him rapping on that 504 Boyz song was crazy. I remember hearing something about him being on No Limit but had no idea he actually got to release music (sort of) with them. If anyone cares the song is called “Get Back” and the video’s on youtube, I only mention this out of the fact that even rapping about gangsta nonsense, Spitta brought the heat.
True words spoke by Currensy. It’s not all on the artist(s) (well at least the good ones), it’s the listeners who ultimately dictate what’s out there.
So the 2 questions are;
are the authentic hip-hop fans the ones buying the garbage that dominates sales or is it the people outside of the hip-hop realm (pop listeners mainly) who take a sneak peek occasionally into hip-hop music that’s on the radio and buy/creating the sales for these garbage rap songs?
people buy what people buy, some of the shit gets big because everyone wants to be cool and listen to the “in thing” its like a fashion trend. the old school hiphop aint sellign liek it use to…
