On the first of this month, Wale was quoted talking greasy about Charles Hamilton during a show. The internet went crazy for a second, until Wale & Charles started sending Twitter messages; stating it was an April Fool’s Joke. But what’s this? Some footage (shouts to h.e.r. on the heads up) of Wale having a few ill words to say about the Genesis character.
Charles Hamilton… that’s not my nigga. Any real nigga don’t run behind your back and say some bullshit. Especially if he know you gon’ check him and not check him on a record. It’s ok… we all young rappers growing up.
This is after he states that every other artists on the XXL cover is, in fact, cool with him. The clip also features Wale performing Artistic Integrity. I’m sure I’ll be updating this soon as Charles will either blog about it, write a Twitter message or something. But until then…. what’s the consensus dopeboyz!? Wale is nothing special and a slightly above average rapper at best but Charles Hamilton isn’t even that. He initially impressed me with his slow motion freestyle shit but he’s not capable of creating songs worth listening too and is much more talented in his own mind than in reality. He hasn’t made one decent mixtape and instead of trying to create something worth giving a second listen to he’s content to put out multiple tapes without a handful of good tracks throughout the entire series. I think our expectations have been dumbed down so much that these caliber of artists can convince a good number of people that their dope when they’re really just average rappers that talk about slightly less annoying shit.
Blu is dope though, in regards to the XXL shit.

i think Blu is definitely better in the studio than wale. saying that as a fellow dc native.I’m just more into his stuff, and the quality Is more consistent. Wale misses the mark sometimes. But live there’s no contest, at least when he came to dc. he wasn’t very good. it was hard to see. Wale live is ahead of all the other freshmen.
