YN did us all a treat today and unleashed some classic footage. Above you can check Jay-Z (backed by The Roots) performing Don’t You Know, then after the jump they run through Renegade. Hov’s MTV Unplugged disc still gets serious burn til this day. Serious burn…

  1. One of my favorite Jay Albums. I bought this the day it came out.

  2. Don’t you know is magic to me. Imagine, this guy ACTUALLY thinks of this shit

  3. this is still a classic. when i do long road trips i always listen to this everytime and the alica keys unplugged. I wish this was on a dvd just like i with the fade to black was a dvd concert of just the concert on dvd in its entirety

  4. yea i agree fully. jay-z unplugged is a classic and i play this shit alot still to this day. didnt know they had outtakes of his show. and yes this should be on dvd too.

  5. another reason why hes the greatest

  6. good music is good music and jay unplugged is timeless

  7. Thank you thank you thank you!! That second verse from “Don’t You Know” is one of my favorite Jay verses ever. Simply amazing! “48 hours as Reggie Hammond, the flow be Nick Nolte, my demeanor is Humphrey Bogie, baby” Damn.

  8. Oh, and I hear a lot of people not give proper respect to Jay for his verses on “Renegade”, I guess due to Eminem’s shock value. People just don’t understand the way he puts words together. A lot of stuff is going over people’s heads.

“pockets filled with a lot of LINT, not a CENT, gotta VENT, lot of innoCENT lives lost on the project BENCH, what you hollerin, gotta pay RENT, bring dollars in…do not step to me I’m AWKWARD, I box lefty, an ORPHAN my pops left me, and OFTEN my momma wasn’t home…”

  9. any way we could get the audio for dont you know???? song is classic!

  10. yeah this album is awesome! i don’t know why more hip hop isn’t made like this, with a real band. it doesn’t just have to be live either, real drums, bass, keys etc have such a greater sound than sampled beats. questlove is one of the greatest drummers out there.
